Would greatly appreciate a full refund.

Absolutely miserable. I was given room 503 and it was scary upon arrival. The bathroom is different than the photos posted, there was yellow rust like or black mold in the shower tiles. Looked and felt dirty. This was my and my fiancé’s first stay ever in Phoenix Arizona. We drove down from Nv to see a DiamondBacks game and decided to stay a few nights. Well we only staid one regrettable night. We wish we could of cancelled and had a full refund. Im sensitive to heat so when we checked in around 6:30pm we turned on the fan and checked to make sure our ac vent was open. We looked and couldn’t find a thermostat but had to go because the baseball game started at 7pm. When we got back later that night after the game our room was disgustingly hot, we had to take separate cold showers and that barley helped. Being sensitive to heat and prone to heat stroke I called the office to ask if our room could be cooked down because we didn’t know how to and the front desk rep stated that maintenance was not available to fix the ac and to make matters worse it’s one ac control for the entire building so switching to a different room wouldn’t help. We were so hot we didn’t even sleep under the blankets and we had disruptive sleep. Not to mention how thin the walls are and how we had yellow light from the hallway. I feel mislead about the ac advertised and had I had known their ac was not working and I wouldn’t be able to control the ac in the room I booked I would have booked elsewhere

    Too hot in the summer!!!!

This poor hotel. We have stayed here several times in the past and enjoyed our stay, but this time really sucked. The temperature was 122 and the ac barely worked, also because of COVID there is no valet service, which they neglected to tell us when I made the reservations, so you have to walk to the parking garage in 122 degree heat to go get your own car. Also be prepared to bring your own drinks cause nothing leaves the bar downstairs. We couldn’t really enjoy our stay because it was just so darn hot, inside and outside the hotel.

Good For Nostalgia, Terrible For Staying

Due to arriving at night and in an inner city, we planned on using the valet parking as advertised (which we found wasn't offered). We had to stop on a busy street to move a cone in front of the hotel to unload. My wife was approached by a homeless person asking for money as she had to stand there alone with the cone waiting for me to park. We then had to unload a scooter into traffic without assistance as well. The next issue was with the room temperature. Due to the nature of the hotel, I didn’t expect to have individual room thermostats. That said, I also did not expected the rooms to be an uncomfortable 80+ degrees with the room fan on high as well. When I went to inquire about the temperature at the front, I was offered a fan and told there was nothing else that could be done. There was also no warm water. I hesitate to list this as a complaint, considering the cold shower wasn’t terrible in comparison to the heat of the room. This is not to say that the hotel does not come with its highlights. The vintage look was exactly what I was hoping to see. The two ladies at the front desk were very kind and the guy attending to the pool was also great. The history is there and evident, but I would not recommend staying there to others due to the major flaws listed above.

    Great vintage experience.

This was retro. Takes you back in time yet still cozy and comfortable. I definitely will recommend to others and return for another stay myself. GREAT EXPERIENCE

    Weekend Escape

I think our stay was as expected for the most part. The people that work at the hotel are great. We were checked in easily and were greeted each time we walked in the hotel. However, the hotel was very average overall. Nothing really was updated throughout. I am not sure if this was because they are trying to keep the historic feel or what. The rooms were small and not many amenities. The room temperature was controlled by the hotel so there was so thermostat. The ceiling fan does most of the cooling. However, when we mentioned something, it felt like they addressed it quickly and in the end, the fan did a pretty decent job. The pool is quite basic. It was not heated and pool area was not kept up very well. But in all honesty, I am not sure the hotel is known for the pool. So it was nice to have that as an amenity because we did use it and were able to have the entire area to ourselves. But, what is great is that the location is amazing and central to everything and that was key. We were close to restaurants, shopping, and entertainment. So, if you aren’t reliant on the room, it did not impact our stay. Overall, we had a blast.

The bathrooms need updating as well as the bed. The staff was friendly and the restaurant had good food.

Good spot to stay in Phoenix for a night or two.

Hotel is a cool old historic building. The fan in my room made a lot of noise. Other than that, I had no real complaints.
