Exceptional
Went to Paris for a week with my other half. Arrived late, no problem. We were booked in swiftly and shown where our room was. We had room 52 on the top floor. 2 small balconies with a great view over Paris and the Eiffel Tower. The hotel was in a great location, close to anything you wanted and the metro station is a 5 minute walk away. The hotel isn’t in a busy location, it’s tucked nicely away in a cobbled side road. Hotel room was “cozy”, although we didn’t need anything bigger. The shower cubicle was a little small as it was the room in the top of the building - it had been constructed at an angle. Floor always got drenched, but towels changed daily, so used those and no problem at all. No big drama, we just tolerated this minor matter. The whole place was recently refurbished and very well too - amazing thermostatic electric showers, nice clean hotel, smart, modern, but still very cozy and welcoming. Reception staff and housekeeping staff were VERY pleasant, friendly, and extremely polite. And English was no problem! I highly recommend this hotel, and I will definitely stay here again next time I stay in Paris. We travelled on public transport to all the big sites and had no issues getting around all of Paris from this base.

Exceptional
great little hotel in an artsy district of Paris
We had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Litteraire. The hotel has a literary theme, in this case honoring the novelist and children's writer Marcel Aymé. Each room is named after one of his works, and there are quotes of his (in French only) on the walls. The rooms were small (as usual in France) but clean. The staff was first-rate friendly. There's a breakfast buffet (continental, basic). But best of all, when you step out the door you are in Montmartre, a district with a kind of small-town feel (less pretentious, less busy) in the heart of Paris. There's a Metro stop two blocks away, and the heart of Paris is just 15 minutes away. Walk 10 minutes uphill, and you're at the top of Montmartre, at the foot of the Sacré-Cœur church, with the iconic Montmartre steps and street lanterns below you.

Very good
This hotel exceeds its two star rating. The only issue is the bar on the corner parties all night! The windows are good, but i asked to be moved to an inside room so it would be quieter the next night and it was. The hotel is exceptionally clean, tastefully updated and decorated with outstanding service. I'd stay again in an inside room although I had an excellent view of the moulin and the outside room is larger.

Very good
This hotel is really far from all the main attractions of Paris, so you will either have to Uber, taxi or take the metro about 25 minutes to the sites. The hotel is updated and clean but our room was small and the bathroom was microscopic. There was a door to get into the bathroom and then another door to get into the toilet. This was extremely challenging and we aren't a big family, so not sure how a larger person would be able to do this. We ended up propping the first door open and leaving it that way unless we were showering because it was so tight. The staff was pleasant enough until we encountered the old man the last day during checkout. He was extremely rude to my grown up daughter and made her cry as she left and most of the way to the airport, so that really didn't leave a good taste in the mouth. So overall all the pros didn't outweigh the cons, next time I will stay at a larger hotel near the center of the city.

Good
Good location, all right hotel
The room was very small. The air was very dry in the room and my kid and I both woke up with soar throat. I was afraid we caught a cold, but no, we didn’t. The air was just too dry. The location is very good. Close to restaurants and shops. But if you are a light sleeper, you might have trouble sleeping as the outside noise can be loud at night.
