ibis Rio de Janeiro Botafogo

I really liked this hotel. I come to Brazil for work and what’s most important for me isn’t some luxury place on the water, it’s cleanliness, ac, and the ability to walk to work and restaurants. The rooms a very practical and purposeful, bed 2 pillows, just a sheet for cover, great tv setup with inputs in flush cabinet, easy controls, safe, refrigerator, closet and very basic bath amenities. You have to understand what you are paying for and getting. It’s a budget hotel that is clean, well serviced, has a bar, some entertainment and is freshly renovated. For these reasons and that it’s close to the main road connection anywhere you want to go while also walkable all over Botafogo, it attracts a lot of business clientele. In fact on my visit, they were the majority (could be the hours I was up too) I will definitely stay here on my next visit

Great location -- even if Botofogo is not Rio's hottest spot. This is not a tourist hotel. The rooms are small, but not cramped. The views are not fabulous, but not dismal either. For the price, the cleanliness and safety of the facility and the friendliness of the staff, it is a great value. And the breakfast is as expected.

Excellent Ibis hotel, usually no frills hotel chain, this one is very good. Clean and spacious rooms and excellent amenities including a 24 hour cafe. The welcome was friendly and Eduarde gave me excellent tips for the local area. Although not in the beach area there is.much to do in Botafogo with many good restaurants, bars and nightclubs. Really enjoyed my stay. Recommended

They doubke charged me even after assuring they would not charge my card again, since I had already paid, they did! Hotel was basic, overprised as compared to others in the area. Outside hotel not the safest area after dark.

Room was a great value -- not large, but had everything we needed. Staff was very helpful. Great location in Botafogo, near a subway station. Taxis always available. Lots of restaurants. Breakfast was for a surcharge, but was very plentiful.
