This hotel has good points and bad points Good points -- staff friendly and helpful breakfast was fairly decent location is superb as minutes away from Main Station and few minutes from the high street/tram stops/other small red light district Safe deposit box Bad points -- Room was quite small for a 3 star as was on 5th floor ok condition wise but daughter i'm sure got bit by bugs or mosquitos as we had window open being hot overnight Tea/coffee in room which was good but no water or milk to make a cup so bought water from shop

Me and my friends stayed for 2 nights this weekend for a 30th birthday 30/04/19, 6th floor 604, three of my friends also stayed on floor 2 218 and they had them too lucky enough they didnt get bitten i was the only one. I have been amsterdam around 6 times never stayed in this hotel. Never had this problem. I woke up with over 40 bites on me. I complained to reception and they said they was sending people to look to pack our bags and leave in the room and sort out a refund, on arriving to the room we see a BED BUG walking over my bed and one i had splatted couldnt beleave id stayed getting bitten for 2 nights, room looked clean newly renovated aswell. Hotel only wants to pay one nights stay for me after what ive been throu, ive paid for medication took days off work due to the bites being so bad as im a medical professional and been given steriods by my doctor. Ive emailed hotel back no reply hotel then forwarded the same email to my friend that also had them in a different room. But i was the only one to get eaten alive. Hotel doesnt seem bothered and im still in dispution with them as i want full refund. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL BIG MASTAKE. You will go home a VICTIM.

I stayed here between Sept 16 and 19. My room was #201. It has two twin beds joined together they were a bit hard for my preference) and the shower stall was a bit small, but overall the room was fine for one person. The location of this hotel was very convenient, right across the street from a tram stop, and about 10 minutes walking distance from the central train station and Dam square. Being a solo female traveler, I also felt very safe here as the hotel is right across the street from the police precinct. I did not try the daily breakfast (7.50 euro) but there were other places nearby to grab coffee. The front desk staff were very efficient but some lacked people skills. My room door had a do-not-disturb button, but if one presses it, it actually locks you out of the room and only hotel staff can open it for you. I would recommend this hotel for its central location and a great starting point to explore Amsterdam.

Dear Sir, Madam I wanted to express the experience I had encountered at the Avenue hotel in Amsterdam during my stay. I had booked my booking via Expedia well advance for my colleague and my self for a business trip. The total cost of the trip excluding hotel was £990.80. When staying at the Avenue hotel, I decided to buy a bottle of Smirnoff 1 litre Vodka, crisps and some snacks for the evening. My friend and I had consumed a small amount of Vodka in the evening. The next morning we both attended the event in RAi. When returning back to my bedroom in the evening, I had noticed that half of the content in Vodka bottle was missing. I was suspecting that someone had been in my room, more so concerned that my personal belongings had been through. I spoke to my colleague, we decided not to take the matter up with the hotel management. The same evening my colleague and I consumed more alcohol from the same bottle but this time marked the bottle to keep a record. The next day we decided to go out, when returning back to the room in the evening, I had noticed the entire Vodka bottle had gone including the Snacks. I went downstairs to reception to address my complain. The person I had spoken to mentioned the housekeeping are from a third party agency, furthermore highlighted he had complaints from other guests their personal belonging had gone missing, unfortunately the person in charge had finished there shift. Read this before you book.
Forget about amazing. Worst hotel ever. We stayed in the lobby for checkin for more than hiur. Even the checkin was at 3pm we had to fight for room at 3:15pm. Room was dirty and sheets were not changed. We missed ine night and called them to let them know. They asked whether they can sell that night to someone else with some compensation and we agreed. The compensation was breakfast for 3 people total of $21. They earned $185+$185 for one room in a night. We waited and fought for checkin even after checkin time. Worst hotel and accomodation ever in my life. Room soooo small and smelly.
