Nice Hotel
I have stayed at a few hotel along Hagley Road Birmingham and ibis Styles was by far the best to date. Clean, polite and helpful staff, comfortable bed with a excellent shower.

Feedback
The room was small. The room was extremely hot. The room was not a quite room as described. The room was located on the main road. No phone to call down to receptionist

Good 6.0
Disappointing
The bed was too firm, with no padding. I had to sleep on top of the duvet to stop my leg going numb. The room was poorly soundproofed. I could hear the guest next door talking on his phone, and people walking along the corridor. The floor boards squeaked which must have been disturbing for the guest below. It is not possible to enter the hotel from the rear car park,so that I got very wet walking to the front entrance. The members of staff I had contact with were very pleasant and efficient

Stay good but dissapointing restaurant.
Stay was fine overall, staff great. Slept OK, although as others have said the walls are a little thin and it was easy to hear the obvious enjoyment of the couple next door!! Bathroom was fine, although a lack of a shelf to put things was a bit disappointing. Shower was fantastic. If you like powershowers you'll love it. Sadly, the sink appeared to be almost blocked so that it took ages to drain, leaving scum in the bowl which was hard to rinse away. However, and perhaos because the drains were blocked, as soon as water was used, the drain smell flooded into the bathroom and was really unpleasant. Restaurant?? Now this is where things were not good. On the website I read of the exciting menu that included lots of Indian dishes. So, I was looking forward to dinner.... sorry, no Indian, the chef left 6 months ago. Options? A mini menu (obviously all per-cooked if there is no chef) or a selection of take away menus. Take away Indian and Chinese meals were fantastic to be honest, but a 1 hour wait wasn't. Breakfast was a so-called Continental one. No Chef - no hot breakfast, many guests were surprised and dissapointed. Someone needs to keep.an eye on topping things up though. No ham, no cheese, no butter or spread..... and no-one about to ask. There was a display of boiled eggs, but no teaspoons or egg-cups that I could see or any salt and pepper either. Couldnt find any serviettes. So a croussant and a little tub of jam for breakfast is not very much for the money paid..
