Lovely stay and excellent food. Needs new carpet in room 14 as it became a slight trip hazard. Staff were friendly and efficient. Would recommend different background music in the dining room as it was reminiscent of elevator music. Overall a super break.

Get together in lakes
Lovely stay spotless room . Bed really comfortable great night sleep . Staff very polite and helpful. It was nice to be served by who I believed to be the actual owner you don’t see this in many hotels . Large property spread out over 2 main buildings and garden chalets . On arrival I thought the chalets looked in need of a little maintenance on the outside but I am sure that inside they are as well maintained as our room (21) that was situated in the main house . Had a light menu early meal that was delicious and the breakfast selection of fresh fruits and juices , cereals , yoghurts, spreads , pastries etc was excellent followed up with your choice from the cooked menu . Eggs Benedict and full Cumbrian breakfast were fab . We would definitely stay here again and will be back .

Exquisite
This is an amazing hotel where everything was perfect. Location is private but very close to the village, the gardens are well maintained and just perfect to admire, walk and relax in. The attention to detail and quality of furniture and soft furnishing is exquisite. The presentation and quality of the food was superb. The most notable feature of this luxurious hotel however is its staff. All were friendly, helpful and polite, especially Dorothy and the lovely lady at breakfast who’s name I forgot to get. I highly recommend this beautiful little garden of England and would intend to return in future.
