Location and Relaxation
After a very long and tedious car journey we arrived tired and grumpy at the Vista. First impressions were not goo. No sign of a reception when I entered a dark hallway and a disembodied voice telling me to to take the lift to the 3rd floor. After that everything was fine. The greeter took all our luggage up to our room while we parked the car (48$ for three nights - ouch!).Our room was huge with a separate anti-lounge, very comfortable and with good views. The afternoon cookies and early evening wine were a pleasant bonus and the serve yourself breakfasts more than adequate (but the hot option was nothing to shout about). Overlooking part of the Riverwalk was a major attraction. Recommnded

Great option between a B&B and full service hotel
Historic building with a lot of character, the room was spacious with a comfortable feel. We had a room facing the street and the only but significant negative is the noise coming from the bars downstairs, our stay was during the weekend (Friday and Saturday).

Great looking hotel with a HUGE downside
The hotel has a really unique and warm look, with a lot of attention brought towards keeping it as original possible. Wood flooring, stunning bathrooms, tall ceilings and really cool looking windows. It's like staying in an old fashioned building with some modern touches. Very cool! Sadly, that feeling ended by the time the weekend it. The surrounding community ruined it, and it pains me to have to say that. I had every intention of writing a great review, but I'm 2 hours past when I wanted to start sleeping and now I'm angry and I can't sleep. There is a bar in the basement of the building, and it's so loud that you can hear it clearly on the 3rd floor. On top of that, the walls of the building seem to be amplifying the nightlife outside, which means you can clearly make out and understand the conversations of people inside the bar... from the 3rd floor. You also have the noisy street below. The riverwalk my be beautiful during the daytime, but it's noisy at night. Lots of cars, lots of drunks, lots of noise. Sorry folks, but my advice is to avoid this hotel if you have any desire to get a good night sleep over the weekend. The weekdays didn't seem to be much of an issue.

Horrible Booking Experience
I reserved the room for my employees who were attending a conference in San Antonio. My issues were not with the hotel's accommodations, but with and their procedures in the reservations I made. I will no longer use to book rooms for our employees. Very dissatisfied with the chain of information between and the venue itself.
