    The hotel is undergoing significant construction work with bare corridors, wet paint signs everywhere and noisy from early morning. I returned to my room after breakfast and there was wet paint on the door handle. I’ve stayed here for years but did not enjoy this experience.

    Pleasantly surprised

    We have stayed at many hotels in this area, when in transit. Bed was very comfortable, room clean We had a kitchenette, and sofa area. Internet connection was a bit frustrating, but otherwise no complaints

    The hotel was undergoing a refurbishment of the reception area when we stayed. Area's were sectioned off and the floor tiles had been taken up leaving a concrete floor.Because of the ongoing work the business centre was not available, but reception staff were kind enough to print off our flight booking for us. The disappointment was not knowing that a full scale reno of the whole reception would be in progress when we booked our room. Our hotel room was tired and dated and needs a compete update. Plus points are that the location is perfect for the airport and that a shuttle is provided.

    Can be better

    Stayed at the Sandman in Calgary n enjoyed it every much. Also the owner donated to our hospital 15 millions. So I got to support them. But this one wasn’t quite the same. First room 115 went in was with horrible smell after removed the mask. Lucky didn’t unpack. Second room 325 the fridge was not working n phoned for repair. Was told unplugged n how do we know. I am senior n not going to remove the huge cupboard to find out what had happened. I paid extra for two beds so that my daughter can come to spend 3 nights with n she lives in Richmond too. Unfortunately both beds were very soft n when you sit on them n you can feel n reach the spring box. First night we both didn’t sleep well. Also the beds require rotation all the time. Because after awhile the beds will form the shape of a body n sunk in. So she refused to stay n every night she has to bring me to the hotel. After one night the key didnt work at the elevator n I booked 3 nights. I have to get new key. I complained all these n only respond was that they will investigate. When I checked out I insisted refund because I have to pay extra. So the girl finally gave me $40 discount. Over all we were not very happy with the hotel
