Poor service leading to an uncomfortable night
I'm afraid that this trip was spoiled by poor service which made my stay very uncomfortable. After arriving in the afternoon i requested alternative pillows (no feathers) and for someone to take a look at the air conditioning which didn't appear to be working well. I was told that this would be sorted while i was out for the evening. I returned around 11.30pm and nothing had been done. I then asked the nighttime receptionist if i could have the pillow alternatives (giving up on the air con issue at this time of night), i was told that i could and waited up for 2 hours without anyone calling the room or approaching the door with pillows. My sleep was compromised in a hot room without pillows that wouldn't irritate me. I informed the desk on checkout the next morning. They apologised and informed me they would ask management to contact my email address - they have not done so 1 week after my stay. Very disappointing that they have failed to meet my needs on 3 occasions.

Fantastic staff at reception. So welcoming and lovely. Disappointed with the restaurant - service was very slow and staff didn’t seem to know what they were doing.

Very good 8.0
Overall good stay. The staff are helpful and efficient, the breakfast is great but room was in a poor condition for this level of hotel. There were holes in the wall where electrics had been changed and the shower was in need of descaling.

mall room
We’ve stayed here several times and had no problems however, on this occasion, the room was very poor. issues included; 1. The room was small and had a freestanding column in it to make it worse. 2. To go past the column meant walking into an area where the headroom was 5.5ft max. 3. The only mirror in the room was in the wardrobe but there were no sockets on that side of the room so my wife had to stretch the hair dryer cord into the bathroom to do her hair. 4. The room looked onto a narrow alley and was directly opposite a pub. at best this room should be let as a single with the restricted headroom clearly marked to avoid accidents

Exceptional 10.0
Amazing hotel, quite cheap for the area, and service was lovely with a smile. Everyone was polite, a few nice bars, restaurants and clubs very close by. Bed was super comfy! My head hit it and I fell right to sleep. I'd definitely ask for a room facing the front of the property next time though, as my room had a view of the window across the well, but his was the only downside.
