    Great hotel & staff
Enjoyed our stay. This was our first and probably last family mini break since the pandemic. Hotel really put a lot of work into making things safe for guests. Room service was free. Room was lovely, service was great - will definitely stay again in the future.

    Parking charges
The hotel was lovely. Very unhappy about the parking charge!! £72 for 4 nights, when we last stayed it was £20 for 4 nights. No where stated this increase. Luckily we had spare money to pay for this otherwise we would have missed out on a days worth of activities to pay for parking.

    Nice stay
Lovely hotel great pool area and nearby cheap parking. Friendly team and great room 9/10 For 10/10 no need to add huge surcharge for the privilege of choosing their breakfast in the morning!!!

    Overall a nice hotel
We had a double room and the 2 children shared the sofa bed. It was quite a squeeze as the rooms are too small really for a family of 4 and there is nowhere to put your clothes other than a very small wardrobe with a couple of coat hangers! The children loved the pool but the chlorine was so strong all our eyes were streaming and we were coughing for quite a while after getting out. Breakfasts were fantastic and location was good too.

Not one big thing but a few wee things!
The room we booked was a family room and it cost us £134. We asked for a cot to be supplied, which it was. The room was very small and laid out poorly. The bathroom was tiny and consisted of shower, bath and sink and the toilet was in a separate room altogether....a tiny room with no elbow room. We didn’t like that the sink wasn’t in the same room as the toilet, there were numerous places to touch before you could wash your hands! The water pressure was awful...the sink drain was really smelly and the bed was rock hard! Biggest disappointment was the changing facilities in the “Leisure centre” which consisted of about 12 lockers and one 5 foot bench. No baby table or anything....it was awful trying to organise myself, a 4yo and a 8 month old after a swim, with a queue of people waiting for me to finish so they could then get ready! It’s like they expect you to traipse back to your room, soaking wet, to get changed! The man on reception spoke very poor English...we both struggled at check-in! And for £134 a night, I’d have expected a complementary bottle of water in the fridge but there was nothing. And the parking facilities were really tight. We felt this was a mediocre hotel trying its best to be posh (and failing!)

    Lovely stay
First time in Edinburgh with family, we are really glad that we choose the Novotel hotel. The hotel is lovely and Central to most place we visited, the food was really good and the staff were very accommodating.

Check in was very slow and our room was not ready. But they did provide us a free drink as we waited just over an hour. One lift was broken and the volume of people using the other one made it impossible to take cases up to the forth floor, we had to use the stairs. The room was a bit small for four people and the settee bed for the children too small, my daughter had to share with us. The shower wasn’t very clean but everywhere else fine. Lots of noisy guests (but to be expected at busy times). Leisure pool had no appropriate changing facilities. The location was fine if you had a car but quite a long way from the station with cases and two children (one only 3).

    Pleasant stay
Giid location, lovely to have a pool and spa area. Breakfast is buffet style, with ample veggie and vegan selections. The staff are all really friendly and helpful. The room was very comfy, the bed had a good firm mattress.
