Would not recommend this hotel
I booked a twin room (that was important) when I received the email reminding me that my stay was coming up (nice touch) I reminded you again about the twin room. I received an email back saying it was all in hand. When we arrived I gave my name and the guy at reception said “double room” I explained NO I booked a twin, he then began to tell me that I originally booked a twin but then rang and changed it to a double. This never happened, in fact I never actually rang the hotel, I brought out my email to show him it said twin, but he did not want to look at it. He made a big fuss of changing the room he booked us into and made me feel stupid. THEN after all the fuss he said there are plenty of rooms anyway!! We went up to the room and there was a bad smell in the bathroom I reported this to reception on our way out but it was just the same when we got back (although everything looked clean) it did smell weird. We tried the bar for something to eat but left as it was very dark and not that clean, we then tried the restaurant but were told we couldn’t eat there as it was not pre booked, they said we could eat in the foyer! That’s not really acceptable so we went out to eat. We both had a good nights sleep. The hair dryer was not working, I reported this to reception also. So all in all I would not stay somewhere that did not have a decent place to eat/did not address complaint and made me feel stupid on check in. I look forward to your comments

Exceptional 10.0
Lovely hotel and room, with very friendly staff. The room itself was lovely but bathroom was in need of a little tlc. Overall though I would definitely stay again!
gb2 night trip
Good 6.0
Not bad
I think the hotel was overpriced for what it was offerring. Standard double room with slightly out of date toilet facilities. Maybe a few modernisations throughout the hotel would be nice but the bedrooms itself are of a high quality. I had been charged for breakfast which I did not book and was a bit miffed about the price overall.

Very good 8.0
Very good
Overall very good. Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean hotel. Pillows were hard but replaced with softer immediately on request. Great shower. Would’ve thought air con was standard in all rooms in a 4 star hotel though. Found the restaurants seemed understaffed with waiting staff at the weekend but food was excellent. Great location. Overall would book here again.
