Exceptional 10.0
First class
Stay was first class. The hotel has been completely renovated last year and it does look very good indeed. I have one point to make, the space available for hanging clothing is in my opinion too small. Otherwise everything was very good.

Exceptional 10.0
Hotel undergoing substantial renovation in entrance hall & reception, so difficult to review. However room itself was clean and comfortable.

Fair 4.0
The reception desk were friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean. However, the room had no air conditioning or fan and was cramped and claustrophobic. It was so hot that the window had to be opened but then noise could be heard from other rooms. The room was on the 4th floor and overlooked a building site so by 9 am there was hammering, drilling and workmen talking loudly. The pillow was very uncomfortable as well. I slept no more than 2-3 hours both nights I was here because of the above problems

Very good 8.0
Good experience (but please install aircon!)
Overall an above average experience. This hotel is upgrading to keep up, which is paying off, but more needs to be done. Location: The hotel is not directly located on Kurfürstendamm, but a block and a five-minute walk away. A bit of a stretch, but not deceptively so. The area is very residential (in a European inner-city sense and with one of the large shared backdoor courtyards that Berlin is famous for), so there is some background noise, but no nuisances. They are renovating the lower two floors (as of this summer) but we did not feel the impact. Room: Stylish, modern varsity interior design. Very clean. The shower area is partitioned off with sliding doors, which is certainly impressive interior design but may be an issue for those who prefer complete privacy (contours visible). Very professional cleaners. A good amount of sockets were available We did not use the TV but mostly German media on offer. Average bedding. One major downside: There was no air conditioning available and the hotel simply did not offer ventilators! The room was boiling! Staff were courteous and helped with all requests. There was a younger staff member who could have thought on his feet more strongly when one of us arrived later at night, but nothing to dent the overall experience.

Designer rooms, but impractical and daily use
Designer interiors of the room are quite bad for everyday's use. Glass walls to the toilet and zero insulation of the sound and smells from the toilet and shower from the main room is terrible. Zero shelves or other flat surfaces in the bathroom for the amanities. Very fragile stool in the room was already broken by our chek-in and it took 3 days to get it fixed, but it's so fragile it's better to not use it at all. Very few shelves and zero drawers, no wardrobe add to the impracticability of the room overall. VERY loud door of the elevator needs immediate oiling, but all our complains to it were ignored during 5 days stay. The beds though are very good and comfortable. Ecerything is so far new, but looks of very cheap and bad quality and extremely fragile.

A stay at the Novum Franke.
I spent a few days at the Franke in April 2019. I was impressed by this hotel:it was very clean,as was my room which was en-suite and had a tv (no British channels.) The reception was friendly and efficient. The hotel is located a short walk from the Kurfurstendamm, not far from the Adenauerplatz ,where there's a number of bars and restaurants and an Underground (U Bahn) connection to other areas of Berlin and a line U7 (via Rudow) to Schonefeld airport (change at Rudow and take bus 171 or X7) to the airport.

Poor 2.0
Low cost, very low standard, never again!
Low cost, very low standard, never again! Most of the time you only get what you pay for, take my advise, pay more and stay somewhere else
Kevin, gb2 night business trip
Good 6.0
So minimalist you just get a bed.
Good location, very clean, as there is nothing to clean, it's minimalist, so concrete floors, lot's of plain walls, massive hotel room, but nothing really to fill it. Okay if you like things simple, but at £200 per night i'd prefer a sofa, bigger TV, a rug? a kettle, an iron, even a comfy chair? No, not even a desk to work on. Should reevaluate the price point to suit, £40???
