Not Mandarin standard
Pretty old hotel. For a brand like the Mandarin, I had much higher expectations - similar to those I've stayed at in different locations.

Gorgeous Mandarin Oriental DC
The Mandarin Oriental DC is worthy of the 5 stars. Great rooms and bathrooms, lovely swimming pool, immaculate and modern fitness centre. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the Mall, so relatively close for sightseeing, however location of the hotel feels quite remote. There isn't much other than office buildings in immediate area which could put someone off. Taxis are plentiful, though, both at the hotel and around town. Despite the not ideal location, we really enjoyed our stay and must note the door and lobby staff were extremely pleasant and helpful.

Fabulous
Absolutely wonderful hotel. Only downside is it is not really near any restaurants or shops at all so unless you eat in their (very nice) restaurant you have a bit of a journey to get anywhere else

Stay at the mandarin
The mandarin is an impressive hotel. That said, the staff go above and beyond to ensure guests are satisfied. It was a great place to stay!
