Fair 4.0
If I had to pick a couple of positives, I'd say that: 1. The art deco exterior and interior are pretty unique (although it's very tired and in serious need of some TLC). 2. The location is convenient for the CBD (however there are a lot of people sleeping rough in the doorways surrounding the hotel. 3. The room was basic but about right for the money. However(!) on the first morning there was no hot water. I tried calling reception and the phone didn't work so I had to get dressed and go down to reception find out what was going on. I was told that a pipe had burst so there was no hot water anywhere in the hotel. I was told a plumber was on the way but would likely be about an hour. This sort of situation could happen anywhere however it's an establishment's response which defines it. I had to be somewhere for a meeting. I asked if there was anywhere else I could take a shower but was told no. No suggestions. Just no. A cold shower it was. The following day I asked if I could have a late check out. I was told I could check out 15 minutes later than the specified time. Hardly a late check out. I asked if I could pay for a late check out and was told no, I would have to take the room for another night. I asked if there was somehwere I could take a shower before my flight, again I offered to pay, but was told no - I would have to pay for a room for the night. I appreciate that this is a budget hotel however there just seemed to be a complete lack of care for the customer.

I booked this hotel based on the pictures show on your site, in no way is this a true representation. I left 4 A4 pages of complaint for the manager to address. I asked the staff if there were other rooms which had been refurbished they said they did not know. Dining room closed for refurbishment, no micro wave provided in room to heat up any food. Staff unfriendly accept fir two Jamie who booked me in and Alice on duty Satutday as I left. Staff on Friday simple could not inderstand spoken English, I was trying to point out a safety issue. He kept saying cleaning staff deal with this, I only reception. Totally unacceptable not to be able to converse with guest. No other staff member for the entire week, spoke to me not even to say good morning. Never stay there again, very dirty and grimy

Poor 2.0
Discusting
I had stayed there a couple of years earlier and it was quite satisfactory, but the 3 night stay there last week was a shocker. I had planned to stay 4 nights but was only going to stay 3 after my plans had to change. I did pay upfront for the whole 4 nights but was told i couldnt get a refund for my 4th night because i had purchased it through wotif, which even wotif advised me that it was up to the hotel management in the end to make the final call. Disapointing. Then the other matter of having the rudest and loudest neighbours ive ever had and to make it worse the hotel check in was only a mere 15 metres away from where the rooms were and they would let the behaviour go on unless i called and complained. Seems like this place is a half way house now for Perth's homeless and drugged out ice zombies. Do yourself a favour and only stay here if you want to be ripped off and disapointed, the staff care not for your comfort and only want all your money.

Exceptional 10.0
Clean, Decent Sized Room. BUT Crappy Internet!
I stayed here for 6 Nights from 14th August 2018. I had arrived early(7am) but as the hotel "was full", the friendly Mr Sultan managed to check me in at 1.00pm-ish(Check-In is officially at 2pm). The counter staff are friendly. The room - though a bit dated - is of decent size(spacious) and clean. It comes with a bigger than the usual small bar-size fridge - ideal for your stuff from the supermarket nearby. The hotel's location is perfect - centrally located. The bus to/from the airport is 4 minutes away and costs AUD4.80 The only downside is the free crappy internet, which is valid for 2 hours and then you have to "renew" it every 2 hours to use it. And even then, its not smooth. It lags. The 2 things the management should seriously look into is: a) Update the slow internet. b) change the saggy 1990's sofas in the hotel lobby(get 2nd hand ones from the bigger chain hotels if the need be). Would I stay here again the next time I am in Perth - YES, I would.

Very good 8.0
Central location
Great location - right in the city, close to buses & trains, easy to use public buses to & from the airport. Staff were very friendly. The room was clean, basic & overdue for a coat of paint. I felt safe. I have stayed here before & will stay again.
