Very good 8.0
Patriots Place.
The unit was great. The front desk was awesome with service. This was super close to Jamestown and Colonial Williamsburg. Most of the Wyndham condos I have stayed at have had the washer/dryer in the unit. This one had a shared washer/dryer in a building of about 4 units. I had no trouble using the washer/dryer but it would have been nice to not have to leave my condo to go check on laundry.

My Christmas stay
I stayed at the Wyndham Patriot place during the Christmas week (Dec 22 -29). This was my 2nd time staying at this location. I would suggest selecting no less than the One Bedroom Deluxe unit as it had more kitchen and bathroom space along with a washer/dryer inside the unit. The units were older, "well-lived in", clean but not as sterile as some hotel or timeshare units. Ample parking. Reception and maintenance staff were friendly, helpful, and effective. Upon check-in, you'll be pressed to sit through a 90 minute presentation in exchange for a few gifts and pressure to buy a timeshare. Remember, you agreed to sit for 90 minutes and can get up and leave after that time and still receive your gift. Overall, I was please with my stay and would recommend the Deluxe 1 bedroom to my friend and co-workers. The forest view from the bedroom is awesome. The basic 1 bedroom or small units have little space and no washer and dryer in the unit. Otherwise, no a bad place to stay.

Poor 2.0
never stay at Wyndham
At check-in: it was fine. It took less than 5 minutes to get our keys and directions to our unit. From there everything went down the tubes. After getting our keys we were required to see the Concierge for a parking pass. This took 25 minutes of listening to a sales pitch that would give us amazing gifts. [At this point in the day, all I wanted was to go to bed and relax. After all, THIS IS MY VACATION!] Everything was free! Except: I would have to sit through a 90 minute high pressure sales pitch for time sharing units. I wasn’t interested. With that, Karen, the concierge, insulted me with “When you come to your senses, call me.” The room was adequate, except for the paper-thin walls and ceiling where I could hear the next door and upstairs neighbors talking. They weren’t yelling. They were conversing and it was extremely disruptive. I could hear their TV’s. The closet smelled of mildew and wet dust. After returning on the 1st evening, the beds were not made. I was told by the front desk, “We do not provide maid service.” Are you kidding? I will never stay at Wyndham, even for a “free” 8-day stay anywhere in their area.

Road trip for seafood.
I make a routine trip to this area for my birthday. We like the area. We always have a nice time here. We book a nice place but travel around to other areas. The beach was an hour away. We went there for a day. Remember Road Trip! A few maintenance issues arose. We contacted the appropriate folks and the were quickly taken care of. Day or night! Area was kept up, room was adequate for a weekend jaunt. However, the fridge was more for a college dorm than an efficiency apartment. I had no place to keep ice, Apparently the only size ice available for purchase is no less than 10lbs. They make small fridges with a fridge and a separate freezer. Walmart sells them for $125. Staff was pleasant and helpful. But the 90 minute time share/rewards program spiel, did not sit well with my better half. We take a long weekend road trip for a specific reason, to get away from dealing with people! Maybe this time it just wasn't happening, but the next time I just might be more inclined to attend. I was a sales person for many years. You can sell anyone something. But you make money when they come back to buy from you again and again, because you treated them right the first time!
