Great hotel, but adjoined rooms
Our stay was good. The location was ideal since it’s a short walk to North Acton station. The people at reception were also extremely friendly and accommodating. The only problem with our stay was that because our room was an adjoining room, we felt a bit uncomfortable knowing that there wasn’t much of a barrier between us and the people next door. Also, the noise filters through easily so we had to put up with noisy neighbours during the night. The staff were great however and moved us to a new room and dealt with the noise problem. However, this new room was also adjoined. Whilst there were no problems here, I would have preferred a separate room.

Room not ready on time
I have stayed in this hotel many many times and it is great - with very few issues ever arising - this time a slight issue as noted below. But don’t let it put you off staying here - it is a great hotel. Room was not ready at the 2pm check in time. Receptionist was good and asked me to sit and wait and told me she had contacted housekeeping to prioritise my room and she did come and find me when the room was ready. However it is not really acceptable that no rooms at all are available by the check in time. If check out is noon at the latest - I cannot understand why some rooms are not ready for new guests by 2pm. It wasn’t as if there was a queue of guests all trying to check in at 2pm - as far as I could see I was the only one.

We got to the hotel about 13.30pm and we were told rooms are not ready we have to wait, beds fine, shower and sink was blocked when you have a shower water wasn't going, same as the sink, toilet was flushing but with not much water we have to use bucket to help to flush the toilet, we went for dinner the food was cold not impressed at all, we were abit disappointed.

Cold and dated
The room itself was basic and we had a couple of issues. The wooden floorboards were creaky and cold, the thermostat was very old and broken and we had visited London in Nov so was very cold we struggled to understand how to turn the heating up. The bathroom felt like a prison bathroom with a metal basin. I also felt there was an odd smell to the room. The bed was extremely comfortable and the hotel lobby/lifts were very clean and updated. Great location - very close to the m40 and tube stop is a 5 min walk.

Best value in town
Stayed for 3 nights and can say that the rooms were lovely,clean and bright, towels big and soft, the service and helpfulness of the staff was exemplary. Would definitely stay again but hope I never have to drive to London again.
