Poor 2.0
Very average hotel. We left quite disappointed.
Very average hotel and we thought it was massively overrated. The rooms were mediocre at best - the first one we saw looked out at the air conditioning ducts! There was no hot water for half the time we were there. If it wasn't for the games room (which was booked and unavailable most of the time) this place would be even worse. Nice enough to stop in for a drink, but I wouldn't stay there again.

Very good 8.0
Room (623) was very basic, very dimly lit and had little natural light. Also slightly noisy from partiers. Common areas (lobby, bars etc) were fantastic though. Staff very helpful and pleasant.

Good 6.0
Great location but unfriendly staff
Located next to Millennium Park and it has great views from the rooftop bar/restaurant. The hotel is very busy with non-guests because of all the restaurants and bars in the hotel. Reception wasn't very friendly and welcome. Room was ok but no view (in fact, view of a brick wall). I could hear noise from next door's room.

Exceptional 10.0
Unique, stylish hotel in ideal location
Unique hotel, respecting CAA's provenance as a real athletic assocation. Excellent facilities bar a pool. Breakfast (and complimentary champagne as offered on check-in) in the Cherry Circle Room was tasty and varied; dinner in Cindy's was beautifully presented and perfectly delicious with tremendous views out over Millenium Park and Lake Michigan; cocktails in the Milk Room (which turns into an exclusive speakeasy out-of-hours) were expensive but great fun (note you’re served a free barman’s choice cocktail whilst perusing the menu, so that improves value for money!). All restaurants, games room and public areas beautifully maintained and themed – a great atmosphere. Stayed in room 1108, on 11th floor. Easy access and very close to lift but surprisingly quiet. No views but some natural light from internal courtyard. Small (had to unpack suitcases completed as otherwise insufficient space) but thoughtfully appointed. Very clean. Comfortable bed. Big TV with mobile screen. External climate control was a bit disappointing but temperature largely comfortable (on a couple of occasions it would have been nice to turn on air con as I prefer a cool room to sleep in, and this wasn’t an option). Shower temperature inexplicably difficult to control! Staff at check-in desk and throughout the hotel and doors all friendly and helpful. Locations perfect for exploring the city centre, and very close to the L so a short hop to explore surrounding areas. Would definitely stay here again.

Nice hotel with great location
The hotel located in the loop, center of the town, providing clean facility with the good manner of its staffs. In fact, the window in my room shows view from the next building which probably office.

Great historic building
We loved the hotel. It's in a great historic building with a fabulous lobby. We loved all of the historic touches. The room was not as large as a modern hotel, but it was very comfortable as we expected. The only downside was the heating was centrally controlled so our room was a bit hot at night and it was too noisy to sleep with the windows open. The water pressure in the shower was also quite weak. Despite these niggles, I would definitely recommend the CAA.

Cool Old School
Great place, but during the pandemic skip the “breakfast included” option on your reservation. Breakfast is a mediocre/bad cup of coffee and a breakfast sandwich from this place in the lobby for ten bucks. There is a Starbucks and a Panera one block north.

Made my all-star weekend perfect!
I had an amazing experience here during February 2020 stay. I booked this spot during my trip to Chicago for NBA allstar weekend. It did not disappoint. I found staff to be helpful, and friendly. The room was stylish and clean with a ridiculously comfortable bed. The in-room bar was well stocked. Room service was awesome with delicious food. Even saw a pro ball player there! The only real downside is lighting. It's a little dark in the rooms which make it harder to do makeup. Other than that, amazing place.
