The first room we were given was dark and dingy and deff not the modern room picture as advertised on website, we were then moved to disabled room that was slightly brighter, the noise was also a problem footfall in room above and corridor notice dreadful. We ordered bar food and waited almost two hours for it when it can it was a scrappy chicken burger with four potato wedges, very poor for £13.

Motorway and no air conditioning, poor quality

Put in a rear room which faces the motor way no air conditioning, had to open the window to cool the room down during the night , so wasn’t able to sleep with the noise off artic lorries flying past all night. Very dated , mould on the bathroom roof , wallpaper falling off the walls , dirty floors on the bathroom , corridor roof didn’t have any panels all the cabling exposed , in need off a refresh air con facilities rear off the building , as you can’t have the windows open this close to the motorway , I stayed to have a early night for a event the next day , waste off money

    Good value for money

Very friendly and helpful staff. Bar menu very limited and in truth food looked much better than it tasted. Bar areas modern clean and well kept. Bedroom was a bit shabby and single beds were very soft. I like to have hot running water but I think it was dangerously hot and could easily scald someone. Great parking and lovely outside areas to sit (if the weather had been better)

I think it will be nice once renovated. The entrance hall is nice and the overall feel of the place but the rooms didn’t live up to my expectations. They were quite run down and the facilities were hard to access. Tea/coffee and kettle were shoved under the sideboard next to the bed instead of out for you to get to. The window didn’t shut properly and I could hear the motorway all night so didn’t get much sleep. At 5 in the morning I was awoken to other guests making a lot of noise. Bathroom wasn’t very clean and most walls had poly filler marks on them.

    Anniversary stay

We returned for our 7th wedding anniversary. We had our wedding reception at your hotel after getting married at Comlongon Castle. Back then the service was excellent and we were made to feel welcome. This time the receptionist struggled to greet us with a smile! We had previously contacted the hotel to make a few requests as my husband has cancer. The receptionist said she knew nothing about it and didn’t even attempt to find out! We were very disappointed and it has spoiled our wedding day memories of what we thought was a lovely hotel
