Could not fault anything from booking in to leaving thankyou

The only minor issue I had was that my room was next to the elevator, which the noise (not terribly loud, but distinctive when quiet) could be a bit distracting when trying to get to sleep.

The staff at reception and everywhere were very welcoming and pleasant. The breakfasts was superb better than a four star hotel

Housekeeping needs improving
Check-in was friendly but didn’t give us enough information to find our room - it was lower ground which was never mentioned. Room was okay for the money - not our choice to be overlooked by a path and the road used for deliveries. We arrived mid-afternoon and fancied a cup of tea. But there were no tea bags. I went to reception to get some but they didn’t have any. They said some would be delivered later but they never were. The next day we left for the day and got back around midnight to find the door open! A pile of laundry had also been left in the corridor. We complained to Lawrence, a manager who said it was below the standards they expected! We didn’t take any chances and for day 2 we put the sign on the door to say they could skip housekeeping that day. On day 3 we left the sign off so housekeeping would visit but when we returned around midnight the room had not been touched. On day 4 we left the sign off again and went for a walk up Arthur’s seat. We returned about 3 hours later and the room had not been touched. When we were having a shower and preparing to go out for the day I heard someone in the corridor so I went out and it was housekeeping so I asked for our room to be cleaned, which it was after we left. Basically, housekeeping needs to be managed better. Breakfast was okay - a good variety but some things were a bit bland eg eggs, tomatoes. There was an ATM on site but it charged a £1 for withdrawing cash! The gardens were amazing - very exotic.

Great place to stay. Considering it is student accommodation it is very good and an excellent breakfast.

Would stay again.
Excellent service on arrival, even arriving late at night. Room was better than expected, clean and quiet. Only let down was a older shower with poorish water flow. I was told the breakfasts are good but didn't try for myself. Would definitely stay again.

Uni halls, generally OK but could do with a bit of upkeep - the light was broken in my room and I found a feedback card from a previous guest in my room saying that they'd asked 3 times for it to be fixed. Lift was out of order. I'd say you get what you pay for, but £98/night (I know, it's during the Festival) is a rip off for a student bedroom.
