False alarm
My stay at the Clayton was memorable for the wrong reasons as the fire alarm went off at 03:45 it was a false alarm but my two boys age 9 and 6 didn't want to go back to sleep for the fear of there being a real fire so there was little sleep got thankfully we only stayed the one night .

2 night stay Clayton Liffey Valley
Had a 2 night stay in the Clayton Liffey Valley as it was perfectly situated for the reason of our weekend away. The hotel reception area is bright, welcoming and overall has a good level of cleanliness. Lots of choice for the buffet breakfast whether it’s cooked food, fruit, cereal or bread that you’re after and all were tasty. We used the hotel pool each day of our stay, lovely and clean and not at all cold. The only downside to our stay was the heat in our bedroom. Granted we stayed during a heat wave but the fan that was placed in our room wasn’t at all adequate to cool the room, it appeared to be of very low power and didn’t create much of a breeze at all.

A Good Hotel but Bad Service
Unfortunately the whole experience was ruined by the reception staff. Hotel need some modernisation but its not that bad but reception staff need some customer service training. They need to be welcoming and helping guests and not frowning on them. I am a frequent business traveller but never experienced such a bad customer service before. There were two other colleagues from the US staying at the same time and they had similar experiences. I normally do not leave negative comments but this is a prime example where a good hotel got a negative review just because of the service. Cleaning staff was very helpful, even though they did not clean my room on one occasion due to "System Error" but they came back later and did a quick cleaning.
