About Hotel Reykjavik Centrum

Stylish hotel with a seafood restaurant on a lively street

Lively Adalstraeti

Hotel Reykjavík Centrum sits on Adalstraeti, one of the city's liveliest streets, with a plethora of bars, cafés, and restaurants. The hotel is an excellent base for exploring the city’s cultural offerings, including the Reykjavík Art Museum, a 5-minute walk.

Watching for whales

A 20-minute walk along the coast not only offers you splendid views of Mount Esja but also takes you to the Sun Voyager sculpture. A day trip to the unspoiled nature of Viðey Island is another coastal activity - you might even spot some whales on the ferry trip over.

Cod and cocktails

Fjalakötturinn, next door to the hotel, offers local favorites with a focus on traditional seafood dishes such as salted cod. The chic Uppsalir Bar, a great setting for surfing the free WiFi, serves light bites to complement a range of classic cocktails.

Fridges and free WiFi

Nordic design pervades the 89 rooms in the shape of light wood panels, minimal furnishings and an understated coffee-and-cream color scheme. Mini-fridges and coffeemakers help keep hunger at bay while satellite TV and free WiFi provide entertainment.

Hotel Reykjavik Centrum
Lovely hotel. Perfect location
Excellent location, near the harbour and 5 min walk to main street with all shops & restaurants. Lovely modern hotel and room was much more spacious than I was expecting. Would highly recommend Hotel Reykjavík Centrum. Perfect in every way

Hotel Reykjavik Centrum
Good hotel, good location
Really nice, well-situated and reasonably priced hotel. Rooms are not huge but are clean, comfortable and well equipped. If you are doing Iceland properly you won’t spend much time in your hotel so room size is not important. Staff were very friendly and efficient. There were no sports facilities that we found but we wouldn’t have had time to use them anyway. Make sure you pay for the hotel breakfast - it is well worth the money, with a comprehensive choice of full-English, smoked salmon, cheese, fruit and cake to name a few. The hotel is located in the old town near to the harbour and there are dozens of restaurants and bars within a ten minute walk. Look out for happy hour - the (expensive) drinks are half price! The hotel is built over the top of the underground Settlement exhibition which is worth a visit to see the remains of a longhouse and to find out about early life in Iceland. There is lots to see and do in Iceland -it is pricey by most standards but well worth the money. There is a pickup point less than two minutes from the hotel which makes any trips easy. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel as a base for your visit.

Great hotel and location . Reception staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Breakfast seemed to lack a little finesse. Overall, I would stay here again and would recommend it .

Very Good8.0
Perfect stay
The hotel was simply amazing, worth every penny, with only one exception....the bed. The bed was a little uncomfortable but the rest of the hotel outweighs this. I will definitely be returning
