Executive room doesn’t have a view/ no nice window
I booked Executive Room but the room is totally different to what I was expecting. First it is on the very top floor and has a slant roof and the window is on the side of the slant which is very bottom. Window and floor on that side is 1 meter maximum and a 2 year old can not stand on that side. Plus that window side has no view because the wall from the other tall hotel is few meters apart. To change a room with a view need to pay 50 pound extra. I am sure you can get one of the nice views to the river infront of the hotel though. Another thing, AC was not working and I have to report the problem 2 times in person to the front desk and 3 times to make a phone call to get their attention. Finally the maintenance person came after 2 hours and he checked the AC and said is not working. Came with small portable fan for the night. My son had Asthma so they couldn’t even change us a room with AC. This problem got resolved around 10pm so my son had to sleep so I didn’t want to make a big of a deal. Best thing though in the hotel is their breakfast and their staff (people) who work on the breakfast room. From the supervisor to all the employees very nice and helpful. They have good breakfast choices and the breakfast room is elegant, clean, and nice view to the river. Front D help on check out was very helpful eventhough they were busy. Hotel has two hotels inside so the first one has to send me to the other hotels checkout after waiting few minutes. easy location to transport

    Missed the mark
Experience started when we exited taxi and walked with 4 bags to luggage check. Bellhop grabbed my bags and threw them on the luggage cart. I told him there were breakable items in my bag and he told me I should have told him first. Really? Nothing was broken, but no one should ever have to tell a bellhop to be careful with luggage. Went to retrieve luggage and my hat was missing. It was clipped to my bag. When I found it, it was ripped and unusable. They did compensate me for my hat, but again, be careful with luggage. Mixed staff interactions. Some nice, some rude. Greta at front desk was nice. Automated lights, window curtains and AC was great at first, but very cumbersome. Some times you just want to turn a single light on. Room smelled like raw sewage twice. Phone was broken so I went down stairs to front desk. They said they knew nothing about the smell, but we’re glad to send an engineer to fix phone. Eng fixed phone and when I asked about the smell, he told me it happens and housekeeping just needs to pour water down the drains. Hotel has a backflow issue that needs to be fixed. Cut myself shaving and requested a bandaid. Front desk would not give me one. Instead, they told me someone would run it up. Never arrived. Ate at restaurant in hotel. Decent food, but very very overpriced. Service was ok. At such a high price per night, I had higher expectations. I’ll find a different hotel next time in London.

    Exceptional 10.0
We got off to a rough start when our room wasn't ready when we arrived. I was immediately met with a warm greeting by Ian and soon was in the capable and loving hands of Shakila who went over and above with one upgrade after another. Her painstaking time and energy spent trying to find rooms with a view that were close together or at least on the same floor was admirable. Her warmth, wit and charm were evident. Later the manager, Salim handled another fluke with skill, professionalism and with caring attention to detail. Edel, Stefan, Krisztian and the entire staff were excellent and made us feel welcomed every day. The beds were comfortable, the room loaded with modern technological additions and the Chino restaurant offered a variety of live music every night along with culinary treats. We were disappointed in the breakfast because the food was lacking in flavor and temperatures were luke warm at best on all the food AND the dining room was always so crowded, the layout severely deficient in flow, that our food was cold by the time we managed to get the juice, coffee and jam. We forfeited our last 3 days of paid breakfasts in lieu of a lovely place within walking distance which served an amazing and affordable breakfast. The location is another great perk within walking distance of the London Eye and so many other wonderful London attractions. I highly recommend the Park Plaza London Riverbank to anyone visiting London and hope you will say hello to those named here!

Visually Appealing Hotel with Outstanding Service
This hotel is very modern and visually appealing on the inside, however, crammed between two other buildings which detracted from its exterior appearance. The location is south of the prominent London tourist points of interests but within easy access to nearly all modes of transportation and there was always a taxi out front standing by to serve guests needing a ride. The room we booked was a Superior Double and was adequate for our use but felt considerably smaller than the hotel’s website photos depicted. Our room had a view of the adjacent building and that’s all we could see from the window so having to keep the curtains closed all the time likely made the room feel even smaller. Calling the room a “Superior” Double led me to have bigger expectations. The room was clean, stocked, and we received light service each day. Housekeeping was efficient and the entire staff that we interacted with was extremely friendly and professional. The hotel’s restaurant, Chino Latino was outstanding (food & service) and had a nice atmosphere with some tables viewing the River Thames, which was nice. Menu prices were on the high end of the spectrum but in-line with the level of quality offered. We also enjoyed the live music while relaxing in the bar/lounge after dinner. I think we paid approximately 13 GBP daily per person for breakfast and aside from the excellent service, the food was just average on both the hot and cold lines. I feel a charge of 9 GBH per person would have been fair.

    Fair 4.0
Let me start by saying I have stayed at this hotel on many occasions both on business and pleasure and normally I can’t fault them. So with this said I am surprised that there is no acknowledgement on check in that I am a repeat guest ( I stayed there one month previously but was still asked “have you stayed with us before”) We booked a suite and admittedly turned up early as we had red eye flight into London. I am aware of the 3pm check in and have no problem with this if obviously the room is not ready, but don’t tell me I will be able to check in at 1pm and not honour it and then give me two (2) further check in times and fail to honour them also. In addition on check my wife and I were told breakfast was included only to be challenged at breakfast stating we had to pay for my wife which we had to do. (This was challenged by me at check out and In fairness they did I reverse it) In addition my two room keys failed in the evening an inconvenience at 1030pm having to go back to reception. lastly I had to inform reception having got in to the lift with my wife that vomit was all over the floor and the mirror of the lift, staff told me “Sorry but it’s a Saturday night”. So with this said in future I shall be staying at the Crowne Plaza next door where am also a member.
