Good hotel but slight faults in services and rooms
I was at the hotel for a couple of days due to a wrestling convention. The hotel was nice around the corner from the exhibition centre where it was held. The staff were friendly, the hotel was nice, the food was good, and a nice comfort area to relax to watch the sport. The room me and my mate were in was great, nice corner area for hairdryer, kettle etc. However the issue with the room and I think it's mainly for twin rooms not sure if it's the same for single or double bed rooms, was that the bathroom was very small like you would expect in a cabin or in a small caravan. The shower was not very good because it led to a very wet floor due to how short is, and the positioning of the shower controls were very inconvenient and could hurt your back or nudge it by accident. So if you are a big broad person, it would be difficult. I would also say, the food is great but for things like breakfast that a little overpriced, it does not fill you up for the whole day. And when it came to the dinner and pudding I had on Sunday night, there was a serious delay and I had to wait a while for my dessert until i flagged it up with a member of staff. So I would say the hotel itself in general, it's good but its not a full 5 star experience compared to other hotels I've been to. I would only advise this hotel as a recommendation to trip goers if your in liverpool for a couple of days like I did. Just to keep it positive, it's not a very bad price for 3 nights (just under £300)

Fair 4.0
Excellent facility - service a little disapointing
A little disappointing - Some confusion over the booking - I had added an addition day to my booking, yet on arrival the reception staff had no record of this (This has happened previously when using your service, booking via the App) - Overall, as always at the Dolby very pleasant and the location is excellent. Confusion at reception upon check-in was frustrating, particularly as this has happened before with yourselves - It took some time to iron out the issue - following this I was advised I had booked 2 separate one day bookings so would need to come to reception the following morning almost to check in/out again (not a huge inconvenience, however if I were in this situation as a service provider I would have looked to be more accomadating). On the late morning/afternoon of the second day of my staff, there was building / maintenance work it seemed being completed in the room next door or adjacent. The purpose of the visit was a Christmas visit to visit friends, the afternoons I like to spend at the hotel however to enjoy the room and the facilities - this was not possible due to the noise levels. I understand entirely that this type of work must take place to maintain the quality of the facilities,I imagine the week building up to Christmas was quiet business wise so possibly an ideal time - completely understandable - what was missing for me was notification - a pre-warning of the inconvenience - In summary excellent facility but lacking personal touch - Regards John M

Poor 2.0
A hotel room with with an inadequate bathroom
I would not recommend to anyone, unless you want to stay in a hotel room that has bathroom that has come out of a caravan!! Serious health and safety issues as you have to step up into the cubicle and when you turn the shower on the water goes everywhere, including on the step. The shower tray was half the size of an ordinary shower tray, so definitely no good if you are on the larger size, or have a disability. The room was dated with green and brown striped dressing cushions, which were stained and could have done with some repair. TV was far to high making it hard to watch, especially without a semi comfortable chair to sit on. Carpet was dark brown and the window frames were red, very dated and disappointing to the eye. I felt as though I had stepped back in time where the bathroom and TV were after thoughts. Even the heating, wall mounted convector heater, which had no instructions for use, especially in how to control the temperature of the room. I was just glad that I was only staying for two nights. Staff were okay but all were young and as I struggled through the enterance door was offered no help or assistance to get my bags up to my room on the first floor - shame as this would have shown some quality customer service.

Excellent hotel for the price
Having read reviews at the time of booking, we were aware of the "compact" rooms and tiny bathrooms, so knew what to expect. More important to us was cleanliness. We weren't disappointed. Hotel close to Albert dock amenities, a 10 min walk. A 20 min walk into the city centre, all very convenient. Free parking also an added bonus, compared with other hotels in the area. Yes, rooms/bathroom small, but clean. Staff friendly, helpful and attentive. Room overlooking the dock, so nice view, also very quiet. Food competitively priced, tasty and didn't take long to wait. Will be visiting Liverpool again, in order to visit family in nearby Birkenhead and to take in some of the city's culture (other than the Beatles!) And will most definitely book into this hotel again. Would recommend to anyone.

Exceptional 10.0
Liverpool break
Great budget hotel , greeted on arrival by very pleasent and friendly staff and quick check in. Entrance area, lounge and dining area very clean bright and welcoming. Lovely room over looking the river, comfy beds and again very clean. Rooms are compact but it was spacious enough for myself, 17yr old daughter and hubby who is 6ft 5in and well built. Everything in room you need , tea, coffee biscuits, toiletries etc. Breakfast well worth having, we went for the full english which was very well cooked but with this option could also partake in the continental section. Had meal in hotel first night and again good value for money and well cooked. This hotel is in a great area with only a 5mins walk to Albert dock and a further 5mins to main shopping area. Would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting this vibrant city what ever age group.
