The Arden Hotel & Leisure Club
Excellent stay
This is a huge complex of corridors with large roomy bar and eating areas downstairs. The room was comfortable and thankfully we could open a window as it was very hot weather. For a hotel of this size and the regular turnover of guests, the general decoration is good with just the usual paint scuffs and there was a large dent in our bath panel but only minor stuff. The swimming pool and changing facilities are brilliant. Nice size pool and jacuzzi with plentiful supply of towels and bags for wet costumes. We didn't use the gym but it looked good. The food prices are a little on the high side but with so many good pubs and restaurants close to Birmingham and in the country, we didn't eat there but there was plenty of choice from snacks to full al a carte. It is very close to the airport and main roads so expect noise. Ideal for overnight stays for early flights. We were there for the museums and art galleries of Birmingham. The journey into the city was extremely busy at all times of day and no park and ride which we found amazing for a large city. However there is plenty of cheap parking. We are already planning another visit to The Arden and looking forward to it.

Uncomfortable in the heat but otherwise ok
Standard room not air conditioned, had to take cold showers every hour just to keep cool. I called reception for a fan and no offer of a superior room with a/c. However, room was clean and otherwise comfortable, bathroom was half way through being refurbished, it will look great when it’s done.
