The Arden Hotel & Leisure Club
Very Good8.0
Decent value, good service and convenient location
All in all it was a pleasant stay and good value for money. The gym and pool complex is a nice bonus on a midweek business trip. The bar serves good, solid pub-style food. The reception area is smart but the rest of the building feels a little old-fashioned, although that's probably inevitable in a place of its age. Staff were very friendly. The only slight issues were that the room was a little chilly and there was some aircraft noise, but of course you do expect that when you are so near the airport. The location is very handy for Birmingham International station and the NEC: it's only five or ten minutes' walk.

Fine for a one night stopover
It was fine for an overnight before a flight. First room I had was very dated and the toilet flush didn't work. I was moved with little trouble to another room (which was also nicer). It was v hot in the night even with the radiator off. Fine for a one night stay, but needs renovating for sure.
