    Lovely location in Valencia
Location for the beach, and for the port and marina were great. Lovely walks along the promenade. Easy access to local public transport (bus) to reach the old town

The Hotel in Valencia to stay for any purpose
The way all hotels should be . Simply the most professionally run hotel I have stayed in with nothing too much trouble and every member of staff was of a cheery disposition- perfect relaxation - thank you

    Nice Hotel
To start with our stay at Las Arenas was great. However it is a 5 star Hotel so I will be critical. The hotel is fantastic, spacious and luxurious. Nice, friendly and helpful staff. Location right on the beach. I paid extra for the terrace but unfortunately there was no sun on our side, due to the time of year I expect. Breakfast buffee was expensive and nothing special, I have had better. The breakfast room seemed chaotic, one small toaster for so many people and the serving plates so hot you could not hold them, so breakfast was a disappointment so we ate out the rest of the days. We had a power failure one evening so no lights or TV in the room, luckily we were on our way out. But all in all a very nice stay and would visit again.

    5 star?
It was unfortunate that building works were underway during our stay. I think we should have been informed about this in advance. There was a lot of banging and unsightly areas within the hotel as a result of the works. Location was good, being close to the restaurants, the sea and the metro into town. My main complaint was that the room was too hot. We had to call the maintenance man for the air conditioning twice and to allow us to lock the safe which wasn’t working. We were told we could only chose a temperature between 21 and 27 degrees, but in reality the temperature in the room was much hotter than 21 degrees even on the 21 degree setting. Generally the furnishings were below 5 star standard in my opinion, with plastic shower tray that creaked every time you moved, and a mattress that warped, and tired looking desk furniture. Staff were friendly and room service was free (we had tea and biscuits brought every day). Gym was in a bad condition - again too hot and 5 pieces of equipment with “out of order” signs on them. The spa looked nice but I only had a hair appointment there. Overall I hope the building works result in an improvement to the quality of the rooms and the air con. I wouldn’t stay there again though.

Not really living up to the 5 stars
We were very excited to celebrate New year at this hotel but already after we arrived on December 30th it was clear the experience would not live up to our expectations. Being a 5* hotel you expect certain things like a decent size room when you are three people and also that the air conditioning is working, but sadly this was not the case and since the room was heated by the sun from midday to evening it became quite hot and with a small room with three people it became even worse, so I asked for reception if we could get a bigger room and one with working air condition but was told due to the New year it was fully booked, so after suffering two days we decided to leave the hotel and go back home even though it was prepaid, but at this point we really didn’t care. Since I travel a lot and spend around 100 days a year in hotels I can safely say this rank in the top 3 of the worst hotels I have stayed in during 2018.
