Such a shame...
Fantastic location and lovely, friendly staff. Hotel is beautiful, albeit slightly in need of attention in places. Unfortunately though, the nighttime noise (drunk people shouting until 3am, followed by the world’s loudest road sweeper from 5-6am!) on our front aspect room meant we slept very little (and this is coming from a couple who have two small kids who stop us sleeping much at home anyway). Also, I was unfortunately bitten by bedbugs whilst staying here! Such a shame, as this place looks beautiful and could have been the perfect place to stay otherwise.

2 night stay
My husband and I stayed for 2 nights at this hotel. it's a very old building and the hotel has kept is decor in the same fashion. very grand rooms and open spaces. each floor has an open space different to the others. it's great just to walk around. there is a beautiful terrace to sit and have a drink. the staff are very helpful and friendly offering advice and help. our room had a marvellous painted ceiling. nice and clean rooms with a comfy bed. very nice breakfast in 2 adjoining rooms. The hotel is right on the river and right in the heart of pisa. we had a fantastic stay there.

An old grande dame
Excellent staff who are very very friendly and helpful. The hotel decor and room has seen better days. It’s location was perfect though; halfway between the airport/train station and the main Pisan sites, especially for walking the city walls.

Staying in history
If you like historic buildings this is a fantastic place to stay. The hotel is over 200 years old and shows in places but this should not put you off. The room was clean and tidy and the breakfast selection good. Coffee made to order. Staff were friendly and courteous. I'd reccomend that light sleepers book a room at the rear of the hotel as the front faces onto a busy road with traffic noise/bars etc. 10 minute walk to the tower. Plenty of places to eat locally.
