Wonderful hotel and incredible staff
everything about this hotel was amazing. From the food to the dream like bed. The local taxi services is not ideal but knowing I was going to miss a wedding: one of the chaps at the bar drove me! outstanding service

Mixed experiences over the course of a weekend
We stayed here on a recent Thursday night and really loved the place, the room was spacious and well appointed, the service was friendly and attentive, the fellow guests were friendly and the local village is lovely. We enjoyed our meal in the restaurant so much that we returned with friends two nights later, on the Saturday (we were staying at a nearby AirBNB the rest of the weekend). Sadly our second dining experience was very different to the first. The place was packed and loud so that what had been a cosy and tranquil dining room on the Thursday now felt like a loud bar. The service was incredibly slow (it took about 45 minutes to get glasses of champagne). Our primary waitress was a young woman who seemed incredibly indifferent to us as clients and to her job in general (she gave the impression she would have preferred to be anywhere else besides there) and she couldn't answer any of our questions about the menu or wine list (fine for a pub, but from the look and price point it seems this place is striving to be a high end gastropub). We were a bit embarrassed at the lacklustre experience, especially as we had spoken so highly of the place to our friends.

Fabulous Quirky Inn
This was a great village to stay in and the Wheatsheaf was a great place to stay, the food is excellent both the dinner menu and the breakfast buffet and cooked. The room was very cozy and lovely and modern still keeping the original features. The only thing I would suggest is a better area for placing your clothes as there is no wardrobe so space was a little limited and really the clothes had to go next to one of the basins, which was fine as we just used one basin. I also think on arrival when checking in you should be told about the tea and coffee facility as we did not realise until the morning when we went to make a cup of tea and then realised we did not have facility and then I read about it in the information book. It was a great service and as soon as called the tea was sorted and delivered.
