Fabulous Quirky Inn
This was a great village to stay in and the Wheatsheaf was a great place to stay, the food is excellent both the dinner menu and the breakfast buffet and cooked. The room was very cozy and lovely and modern still keeping the original features. The only thing I would suggest is a better area for placing your clothes as there is no wardrobe so space was a little limited and really the clothes had to go next to one of the basins, which was fine as we just used one basin. I also think on arrival when checking in you should be told about the tea and coffee facility as we did not realise until the morning when we went to make a cup of tea and then realised we did not have facility and then I read about it in the information book. It was a great service and as soon as called the tea was sorted and delivered.

Dirty, unclean and needs an overhaul!
We do not rate this place at all however do rate the service. We arrived in the carpark and were directed through the beer garden, past the kitchens to the checkin area, which is the bar. The places seems grubby and dirty. The walk to the room (room 7) saw the carpet worn away, and walls scuffed and scratched, with an overall sense of being dirty and unclean. The room overlooked the beer garden so was noisy. The bed seemed comfortable and the pillows decent but the walls scratched and throw has seen better days! We were so disgusted that we rang around and found that another hotel owned by the same company in Cheltenham had space (No.38 The Park) and, honestly, book there - its a completely different set up but a world apart! Its lovely! The staff at The Wheatsheaf and No.38 were great about the whole thing!
