Double booked
This was a terrible experience. First there was no one at the desk/office and I used a key box to get my room key. Had to use another key box to enter the court yard to get to my room. When I finally got the key for my room and went to the assigned room and there was someone in the room, they stated they had been in the room all day. No one would answer the phone to get this matter resolved so I went to another hotel. I’m still waiting on a reimbursement from for this “stay”

Not very clean. Very noisy outside condition at night.

cute and quaint away from crowds
Fine for short stays. Definitely not soundproof which is my only complaint is that I could hear the conversations in the courtyard.

Would definitely recommend!!
The Hotel was beautiful and has a different feel of your “typical” hotel. It’s located perfectly in the city and in the middle of this pandemic it was still a very relaxing stay. If you want a New Orleans feel this is the place for you. The only slight negative is the parking but it’s not horrible.

Neighborhood is funky which I did like and is very New Orleans. I can handle funky. I was traveling alone in early July still in the midst of the COVID pandemic. Checkin was great and staff very friendly. There were notices posted on the office building and in the courtyard with photos of people to not let onto the premises. This was disconcerting and I suspect it was due to mental illness or drug dealing. The interior courtyard had people hanging out and it seemed it was more of a low rent by the week place rather than an inn for tourists. Maybe that is a change in their business model during the COVID shutdown. The room was simple, TV did not work, sheets and bathroom were clean. The room smelled strongly of deodorizers and cleaning products. The walls were paper thin and the other guests/residents were having friends over and playing loud music. Things did settle down after 11pm. I would equate this to the type of hotel hunters use - simple, basic, smelly and no one cares. I would not pay more than $40/night. Probably all different during Mardi Gras or Jazz Fest.
