Staying in art museume
Loved the art and enjoyed looking at the paintings. Nice touch having coffee and tea in lobby. Delicious breakfast. Slur, scrambled eggs smoked salmon and more. Would definitely return.

Highly recommend Hotel Holt!
We did a last minute early check-in and thevhotel did all they could to accommodate us. They recommended us a place to go for breakfast while they got a room ready for us. They kindly stowed our luggage for us while we took a short walk to breakfast. Then they emailed when the room was ready and off we went to get some rest from our international flight. The room was a bit dated, but clean and comfortable. The staff was fantastic! If I had to plan the trip over, we'd stay here the whole time and do day trips out of Reykjavik. The price was incredibly reasonable compared to other lodging south and east along the coast. The hotel lobby and other common areas reminded me of an elegant wood-panelled lounge with framed artwork in every room. This is truly a fantastic gem for anyone, but particularly, the U.S. traveler who has never been to Iceland.

The hotel is home to one of the biggest collections of Icelandic art - so you can immerse yourself in the country's culture without even having to leave the hotel. Built in the 1960s, the style of the furnishings might be a little dated in places, but it has a classic style that many will appreciate. The hotel's breakfast buffet offers a generous selection (and many of the best paintings hang in the breakfast room). Every single member of staff we met during our stay was friendly and incredibly helpful. Have stayed in a few hotels in Reykjavik and this is now, by far, my favourite.

The location was perfect, very close to the centre to get food and bus stops to be picked up for tours. The hotel staff are really helpful and friendly, nice to chat to and also gave lots of recommendations. For 1 day we had a really early tour and they prepared a little breakfast for us to take which was really lovely and thoughtful. The only negative was the wifi wasnt very strong and kept dropping in our room

The staff there’s fantastic but the hotel only had 4 working tv channels. It would have been nice if the hotel had cable.
