Great place for stopover
Nice hotel with lots of space and facilities, although in need of some modernisation. Higgins Hill so you will need car or taxi to get into the town.

Beautiful short stay resort hotel
We found it confusing to find our way around. There are many stairs to climb and the lifts are unclear with directions- we met other guests equally confused. However the food was fabulous but some of the staff on reception seemed too busy to be concerned with our needs.

Good hotel with a view
Good hotel complex located outside of town, on a beautiful hillside (in my opinion not walking distance to the center of Garmish unless you are ok to walk about 45 min on the street). Hotel is older but well maintained, room was confortable and had a balcony with a view of the mountains and town. Buffet Breakfast was ok, plenty of options to choose from, but seating was an issue at times as the staff was limited and did not get around to clear the tables fast enough (they did work hard to please guests so can’t fault them on that). Overall ok value for the money, would probably stay again.

Poor 2.0
They are so racist to Arab people
The staff ask me to pay deposit 500 Euro and I was shocked and ask them for more explanation and directly provide me with an information sheet in the Arabic language and they said you have to pay or no room, on the end I paid. after that I have asked Germain and European residents in the hotel if they face this all of them they say no, no one paid deposit. In the check out all the people in front of me, they make an easy check out with a smile expect me because they said wait we will check the room first then will do check out, I was impressed since all the residents looking to me. Finally, they are so racist to Arab people, we are not welcomed in this hotel.

Wonderful stay
A truly wonderful place to stay and relax. I only wish I had more time to enjoy the many features and the local area. I did get to do some exploring but will need to make another trip in the future to see more.

Flatters to deceive
Place looks great and was very welcoming but after a day it went downhill. room not cleaned, would not let us get food in the bar area even though others were eating in this area. Breakfast was disorganized., hot water for tea was luke warm - had to ask for it from the kitchen, cooked food on buffet was cold.

Good 6.0
Some improvements needed.
We have stayed here five times and love its location and ambience however we see things sadly slipping. No longer the big welcoming log fire in the reception area. Sauna and steamroom closed for renovation (that's ok that it is being renovated but nobody told us this when we booked ). Floating pontoon for drinks and snacks on lake removed. Half board dining one night was simply awful. In fairness, breakfast is first class. Staff are wonderful all areas. Not a lot to get the show back on the road Hotel Riesersee so go for it! .

Great experience
The location is great and the staff was absolutely wonderful. The ladies in the breakfast dining room couldn’t do enough to make sure you were happy with your breakfast. The staff at the front desk were helpful with our requests and helping with our planning for our activities. The hotel had some renovations going on that should make the experience even better. They renovated the sauna and the breakfast dining area. There were repairs being made to one of the elevators that required you to use others, no real problem. Overall a great experience.
