Really nice room in a comfortable and well located hotel. The staff were really friendly and helpful. We ate in the restaurant and had a drink in the bar. Both the meal and surroundings were great.

It was a tale of 2 halves at the hotel. The room we were allocated was not what I had been expecting. I feel it was the wrong room however I never said anything, it was only at night that it wasn't good, the hotel faced onto the pubs and clubs and you could hear all the people coming out, the glass bins being emptied and the street sweeper. It was not good. To make matters worse I had booked a meal and they didn't have the booking for us, plus staff weren't very attentive. I complained in the morning and the lady changed our room, this was in my eyes the correct room from what I had been expecting in the first place, but better than that it was quiet. Overall disappointing for the money, it has put me off staying here again. Appreciated the room change though.

Lovely stay at the George very comfortable amenities very good.The only comment I have is I had too request a second chair as there was only 1 in the room which was very surprising as this was a superior room a d was led to believe for a 4star hotel a room for 1 people there should aways have 2 chairs.Where is the second person to sit on their thumb!?

I cannot praise our stay at this Hotel highly enough . From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we had such an amazing experience. All staff are so friendly and helpful and the room was just amazing ! We had our dog with us and she too was treated so very well. I will definitely be back here to stay and would highly recommend others to go too.

We really enjoyed our stay and overall we found it very appealing and would definitely stay again. The areas of attention would be the heating in the rooms not very efficient either too hot or cold. We were in 665 and windows very draughty. The hot buffet breakfast was sub standard bacon not nice and eggs overdone if didn’t get as soon as brought out. Not value for the chargeThe bar was not accommodating as when asked for table told yes but we would have to move later then reservations not taken up. I would make non - reservable as must have been a number of no shows. All staff were very charming and polite and we would recommend to others.

Our room wasn't ready and we had waited an hour for it so the receptionist very kindly upgraded us to a suite which was stunning - absolutely made our stay memorable. Unfortunately, if you wanted porridge or smoked salmon or pancakes for breakfast this was an additional charge and we didn't think £22 was a fair price.
