About this home
Escape to our modern lakefront home in Griswold, CT. Our home is on an oversized lot giving you plenty of privacy and space to enjoy the waterfront. Enjoy the beautiful views (the sunsets are particularly spectacular) from multiple outdoor seating areas, the dock, or the 2 firepits. There is also a balcony off of the large king size bedroom. This home rental includes the use of the kayak at no charge.
The house is direct waterfront on Ashland Lake, a ponded section of the Pachaug River in Griswold, CT. You can fish, swim, kayak, canoe, and more in the extremely picturesque waters right off the grassy backyard of our cottage home.
Although you will want to spend as much time as possible enjoying the water and the views we have gone the extra mile to make all aspects of our waterfront house feel like home.
Inside you will find a game room that is perfect for all ages and a home theater room with a large projector screen. The game room also includes a new bunk bed and a Pac-Man arcade game. The main floor of the lake house includes the living room with a tv and plenty of seating, fully stocked kitchen, full bathroom, a queen sized bedroom, and a king size bedroom which has it's own sitting area, desk, and balcony that overlooks the water. Pets are also welcome with a paid pet fee.
Important: Sheets and towels ARE included with your stay. They are washed before and after every guest, feel free to use the laundry room during your stay as needed as well. We also provide a starter pack of paper towels, toilet paper, toiletries, cleaning products, soaps, detergent, sponges, k cups, nespresso pods, and tea!

Gorgeous property and house comfortable clean and such wonderful hosts
I had the most delightful week in this gorgeous house right on the lake. The property is direct waterfront and the views from the house and the property are amazing in addition to the actual dark and waterfront itself. The house is so comfortable and it was spotlessly clean. I loved the king suite so much for a workcation! Both of the large beds upstairs are super comfortable I didn’t get a chance to try the bunkbeds down in the media room. It was so great to have a desk and a sitting area with a balcony overlooking the yard and the lakefront. The kitchen is really nice and the house was very well stocked. Not only did I have plenty of pots and plants and garbage bags and things like that they left me the most lovely toiletries in the bathroom. Lots of clean and fluffy towels. Superior quality bedding. The house is really beautifully decorated but still comfortable not stiff. I enjoyed sitting in the living room a lot and watching movies in the media room downstairs. My dog just loved the fenced in patio right off the kitchen door and the whole backyard. That patio is amazing with all the levels and seating areas! There are fire pits a weber grill and really nice quality year-round outdoor furniture. Every day I was so happy to be here. I watched swans on the lake and many beautiful birds. There are very tall old pine trees with the long cones and it’s extremely pretty even in winter. Speaking of that the house has great oil heat with a regular thermostat none of that cheapo propane or lock you out of it smart thermostat stuff. The house is warm and the hot water is plentiful and the laundry is really nice too. If you like Chinese food make sure in order directly from Mandarin Garden Jewett City it’s excellent. Also make sure you read the alternative directions provided by the host it’s easier to get to the house that way. The host went out of their way to make sure that I had everything I needed for a wonderful stay. I will absolutely be renting here again and again!

Nice accommodations, beautiful view of lake. Will most likely go back in warmer weather to enjoy the lake. Just wish it was a little cleaner, some dust and cobwebs.

Beautiful Lake House!!!
We had a beautiful family gateaway !!! The house is very comfortable and has a gorgeous lake view. It was a rainy weekend but it didn’t affect us to enjoy the firepit. My daughter really enjoy the movie projector. We had a different and relax New Years Eve!!! We love the place !!!
