This hotel was obviously something special a while back, but our stay with our two Border Terriers proved how tired the place was getting. The rooms were clean and provided plenty of room. The large bed extremely comfortable. The bath tub shower wasn't so great, just ok. The nice thing about the room was that you could actually open the window for some fresher air for a better nights sleep. Staff were absolutely lovely and so very helpful. Breakfast was adequate, nothing to write home about. They kept running out of different foods, so I think the staff were finding it difficult to keep up with demand. We had an evening meal in the restaurant, a couple of minute steaks which were cooked well. The bar had a few beer and lager selections, however being real ale drinkers, there wasn't much to our taste. The golf course was great to walk around with our two dogs, so that was extremely handy to say the least and an oasis amongst busy roads and the built up area of Coulsdon. The worst of it was the wedding that was going on that day and evening. Our room overlooked the function room, so the noise in the evening was a real disappointment. The next morning, we found broken glass outside on the patio, which was a major concern. None of the glasses had been collected from outside and it's not like we were up that early. Would I stay again? Only if all other options had been exhausted.
