Back to the Future Campus style!
I was in Toronto from the 17th to the 19th of May 2015 for a conference and to meet up with friends. I hesitated at first with regards as to whether to go for this or a more expensive upmarket brand like the Hiltons of this world, et, etc. I am glad I made this choice. I was met with young, cool and friendly staff with a real knowledge of the locality and places to go/things to do, I guess as being a University Hall. It was downtown so strategically located. The communal toilet and bathroom facilities were adequately clean and robust with lots of them on each floor and high speed wifi coverage everywhere you were on the grounds. Note the rooms have no TV or radio, but in these days of the internet...My bed was a single bed, comfortable and the room was well lighted. It was also importantly generally quiet regardless of the time of the day. I would recommend the place if you ever liked the campus feel and if you are travelling on a buget it is very good value for the money you would pay and in a terrific downtown location.

Spartan but clean, convenient and functional. However, many rooms in dorm and some people go to bed late and others get up early, so if you are a light sleeper, may not be great.

Problems but ok
Check in was at 3pm and they had two staff on to handle about 50 people checking in. We were lucky in that we were in the front of the line. Once we got to the room it wasn't cleaned from the previous occupants. So I had to head back to the now huge line up to wait and get someone to come clean up. They don't change the top two blankets in between guests as well. Bathrooms were exceptionally clean. The luggage room was locked but they give the key to another who asks and it would be pretty easy to steal from it. Air conditioning was very loud and cold and no where in the room to turn it down.

Great location! Safe and pretty quiet for a place right downtown. Keep in mind that this is not a hotel but the university campus. Basic furniture with single beds and a shared bathroom. For those who have have car, parking is a pain and expensive as you would expect in downtown toronto... Reception gave us and list with 4 possibilities and we chose the Kensington market in Chinatown, which is a 10-15 min walk. Make sure to drop off your luggage first before parking... the room was very clean and spacious. Very quiet when we were there.

Very helpful front desk
Front desk individual (her name was Christine, perhaps?) was very helpful in spite of the late hour.
