Comfortable stay at Jasper
The hotel is conveniently located near Queen Victoria mkt and tran lines. Clean comfortable room. The windows aren't double glazed, so we could feel the cold air seeping in. Fortunately theres a thick fleece blanket as backup cover.

Perfect location
The location was perfect and the service was very friendly. The room would have needed better cleaning, it was dusty and smelled like it hadn't been used in a while.

Nice place, but several problems
I've stayed several times at Jasper Hotel and it has been mostly adequate, but was surprised about a couple of things this 2-day trip. Firstly, I was grateful to be upgraded to a suite (not really necessary for two nights, but kind nevertheless). Unfortunately, the shower head for the hand-held shower was broken (would not stay up--which matters to me) and the bedroom lamp was not working. Of greater concern was that despite a Do Not Disturb sign, and a Do Not Disturb switch/light put on, a member of the housekeeping staff *burst* into the room univited and without knocking while I was barely dressed. I was also adjusting the aircon beside the door, so it narrowly missing knocking me over. I received a half-hearted apology from the member of staff. Front-desk staff were very apologetic, although kept pointing out that I had received an upgrade (as if that should mitigate this). On one evening there was a fairly loud party across the courtyard from 3am-4am. After politely asking the lads to quieten down a bit, I had to call down. Several calls and no one was answering at front desk. Overall, lacking in genuine care for guests, and condition of the room not great. That aside, location is good, the rooms (when everything works) are very nice, and front-desk staff do seem to be trying.

Good location, poor service
My experience of the hotel was marred by check in. There was no one there and when some one did arrive, she was slow and didn't want to engage with me. Likewise when I went for breakfast there was no one around to serve.

Clean and friendly hotel, the staff were very helpful. Our room on the 6th floor was very well appointed and very comfortable. The only problem was being at the front it was noisy, traffic and trams on Elizabeth Street could be heard very clearly, the windows and blinds seemed not to reduce the sound at all.
