Small but perfectly formed
We stayed in the Chancellors Hotel for two nights on a visit to relatives in Manchester. The hotel is in a nice setting with good, free secure parking. Our room which was on the third floor was not accessible by lift with the lift only visiting the second floor. The room was clean and had all the normal facilities TV , tea and coffee making facilities but was on the small size. However we thought the room was good value for what we paid, and suited our purpose, I wouldn't recommend for longer stays than a couple of days due to the room size though, unless a small room suits you.

Well Worth The Upgrade
On arrival we paid extra for a room upgrade, as I understand most rooms are quite small. The one we were first shown, certainly was. We stayed in the room which is on their website, with a wonderful view of the garden. There was a broken table in the room, which we didn’t need, but it was never removed. Staff very helpful. Evening meals OK- but a limited choice. Breakfast fruit would be a lot nicer, if it contained more than apple, melon, water melon and tin pineapple! A great quite place to stay after visiting busy Manchester. Only a very short walk to the bus stop, for a bus journey of only 15 minuets to reach the centre. No.1 Canal Street is a great restaurant in the Gay Area of the city, which is full of young people having fun. Well worth a visit.

Lovely Manor House and Gardens
We booked this hotel due to the charming manor house, the arrival was a bit of a struggle due to no signage when entering the university grounds and building work made it impossible to follow the sat nav. We eventually got to the reception area, which left me feeling underwhelmed due to the grandeur of the building we expected a stunning reception area, but the reception area was small and didn't display any characteristics of the Manor House. Initially we were offered a very small sized room (in the refurbished part of the hotel), after querying an upgrade we were offered another room which was a reasonable size. However, we wanted to stay in the manor house and was then offered a room in the original house at a reduced rate (Thanks Loren). This room was lovely with modern soft furnishings and a huge window overlooking the lawn area. The view was amazing, the staff were helpful and the restaurant was superb. Overall, it was a memorable stay for all the right reasons, we will be staying again and I would recommend a room in the Manor house. (Photos wouldn't load).
