Holiday Inn Club Vacations Mount Ascutney Resort

We only spent there one night in a one bed apartment. The hotel itself is newly refurbished so everything is fresh and new. There was no restaurant at the time on site so we had to go to the nearest town (15-20min driving) to get some food, which for us was a big negative as we were with 2 small kids.

Great friendly staff. The restaurant was good. Beautiful room. The bathroom is a little small.

This is a lovely property and the quality of the unit and bedding was first rate. My issue is that we were on a ski vacation, and while we knew we would have to drive to the ski mountains, (35 minutes each way), we figured that the amenities would more than make up for the drive. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. First, the restaurant was closed, probably because out stay was mid week. Second, the sundry shop didn't sell anything that could be used to whip up a quick dinner, like mac and cheese, or frozen pizza, or something like that. This meant driving 5 or 6 miles to Windsor. Not a huge distance, but significant when you come back from a day of skiing and just want to not have to move. Second, while the pool looked very good, we did not go. Mostly, because everyone staying on the property needs to drive to the pool. Due to snow, and maybe not, I would not recommend walking the quarter mile. Second, we know there was no hot tub. If you are going to cater to skiers, you must have a hot tub.

Overall nice stay. Stayed for 3 day ski trip. When I tried to exchange used towels for fresh, was told it would be an $8 fee per set of towels. But had free washing machines in basement. Strange. Was told to leave trash in hallway upon checkout. Staff not prompt about picking up bags of trash in hallway. Onsite restaurant was good.

Great spot for sledding/tubbing, comfortable and affordable villa. Beds cozy, living area spacious, chairs and couches in living room aren't very comfy, but the kitchen was well stocked with cooking essentials. Only downside was no elevator and our room was on the third floor. We did not get the correct room layout that we booked on hotels.com, but I find this to be a reoccurring problem when using hotels.com. We reserved a two bedroom (king/queen) and received a two bedroom (two twins/two fulls)
