Poor customer service
We stayed here for one night only to celebrate my husbands birthday. We had emailed ahead to inform them and to request a nice room and enquire about the parking . They emailed back to say all rooms were nice and the hotel had its own car park ,plus there was a public car park near by that would best suite our longer vehicle .On arrival we found a lot of the parking spaces had disc parking for free all around near the hotel ,but we did not know what the the disc was . There were spaces too ,very near to the hotel! We found the car park which was £6 for 24hrs . On check ,in we noticed another guest was given a free parking disc to park her car ,which we were not made aware of in our original email which we were annoyed at , as we could have parked very near to the hotel ,which would have helped us ,as I have a bad back ,so my husband had to take my luggage as well as his own! On checking in ,,we discovered in conversation ,that our room was not in the best part of the hotel which we were very dissapointed in. We were given other options of what other rooms were available and what extra cost was involved. We looked at our allocated room first ,and as expected we were very dissapointed, it was dark and small and with not a great outlook. The mini suite we looked at was awful just two very small rooms . Eventually ,we had a large room with a very nice sea view, and at an extra cost of £40 a night but we could have it for £20 to which we agreed

Exceptional 10.0
Beautiful hotel with fabulous food & staff.
Brilliant!!! A very last minute booking, literally en-route and arrived within the hour. Booked a superior twin room with a sea view. Check in was excellent, free parking on the street, but opted to pay £6.50 to park my car in there carpark at the rear of the hotel. Entering the room, it was lovely, but the beds had been made up as a double. Everything else with the room was spot on. Went down to see reception who arrange for the beds to be made up as 2 singles. A short time after, a knock on the door, and it was a guy to do the beds, he asked if we were going out, which we were, so offered to come back while we were out so they would be ready on our return. Shortly after he had gone, reception rang the room to check if everything was OK. Dined in the Taste Restaurant. The food was fabulous and service was excellent. Returned to the room and true to their word, we now had 2 single beds. The sea view in the morning was stunning. The area around the hotel is a beautifully kept and original part of town. Somewhere I never knew existed. All in all, an excellent place and customer service second to none. Well done Crown Spa Hotel.

Exceptional 10.0
We were in the 'disabled' bedroom with a sea view. It was a wonderful place to be. The room was spacious and well set up to move around without bumping into furniture. The bathrooms was amazing, because it had both a tub (for my companion!) and a walk in shower (for me) and also had two sinks, one lower than the other, specifically for someone using a wheel chair. It is definitely one of the nicest I have ever been in. A few special other things. There is mood lighting in the bathroom, little pink gentle spotlights, that were so pretty. The tea and coffee making facilities were very generous, especially in giving us plenty of milk. Also, as we were celebrating my 75th birthday, there was a card from the 'staff' and some chocolate truffles on our arrival in the room. We were able to use the swimming pool, hot tub, and spa facilities before our room was ready at 3. We had time to walk slowly to the nearby shops and had a cup of tea and scone before wandering back to the hotel for 3. The view from our room was so beautiful. The dinner we had was excellent. As a vegetarian there were not a lot of choices, but I still there was enough to find something I really liked. The next morning we did not have breakfast as part of our stay, so we sat and watched the sunrise and drank coffee and tea in our beautiful room. All in all it was a wonderful stay. Next time I would book directly with the hotel to get the benefit of a discount on treatments and breakfast included.

Poor 2.0
Whilst the property looks amazing from the out side it somewhat falls very short from a true spa feel inside. when considering the expensive nightly fees you expect basic pamper at the very least. We booked bed and breakfast and free parking. On arrival they was a parking charge at the hotel, but free parking where you could find a place on the road side. There was no breakfast included apparently a mistake on the booking £15 per person not good very misleading advertising. We stayed in room 201 please make sure you are not given this room, small, no air conditioning overlooking a car park in view of all passing traffic unless you closed the main curtain and died from the heat. They was a private party so we were asked to leave the cocktail bar, but informed we could sit with everyone in main reception who were having afternoon tea. No atmospher it as like been in an old person home, very very disapointing. The grounds needed maintaining the shrubs were over grown and you had no view at all. We were expecting slippers and robes, no the were not in our room as suggested when we booked. All in all very misleading advertising. To access the spa????? you walked down a very shabby stair way or accessed it through the carpark. However, it not a spa, rather a gym that is advertised for membership. We are left wondering what the management team will respond to this true, honest experience of what should of been a relaxing treat for our 40 wedding annerversary

We arrived at the hotel on a Friday afternoon and went to the reception desk to check-in where we asked about parking facilities. The pleasant and welcoming gentleman on the desk said that we could use a ticket to park on the street free of charge, however, we had difficulty in finding a space and it was more than a five minute walk away from the hotel which was not exactly ideal. We had an evening meal that night in the hotel which we really enjoyed and had very good service. We stayed on a room only basis and chose a deluxe option which in hindsight was rather expensive considering we had a view of an airport taxi garage and the back of a kitchen. Other points to mention about the room; it was frustrating that you could not properly watch the television from the bed because of the way it was angled flat to the wall, also because of its position and as the sunlight was shinning on it, we had to draw the curtains; the bathroom in particular, had a wet room shower which sprayed water over most of the bathroom floor as the curtain was not long enough, the taps of the basin were badly designed and when turned on, did not flow into the centre of the sink and you couldn't get you hands under them properly; it took me a while to figure out how to get the right temperature when filling the bath but it was comfortable when I finally did. For breakfast, we chose the 'express option', which was enjoyable as we felt that the full buffet breakfast was too expensive at £15.
