About Hotel Sunroute Plaza Shinjuku

Central Tokyo hotel with mini spa and sleek bar-eateries

Near Shinjuku station

In Shinjuku’s central business area, Hotel Sunroute Plaza Shinjuku is 5 minutes' walk from Shinjuku Station where you can board the JR line to reach Tokyo’s myriad districts and sights. Tokyo Opera City Tower is 18 minutes on foot and Shinjuku Central Park is 15 minutes.

Busy bars, Shinto shrine

You can reach Shinjuku Golden Gai's “bar neighborhood” - 6 streets crammed with 200-plus bars and eateries - in 15 minutes on foot. Kabukicho entertainment and red-light district is 15 minutes' walk, as is the tranquil Hanazono Jinja, a 17th-century Shinto shrine.

Mini spa, fireside drinks

There are 4 meeting rooms available if you need to get some work done, but for those in need of a little pampering there is a relaxation salon - essentially a mini spa - on the 2nd level. Dining choices include the trattoria-style Villazza and cozy Café & Bar, while Bar Ku Kon's fireplace is a great place to unwind over cocktails in the evening.

Free WiFi, fridge

The contemporary styled, air-conditioned rooms feature free WiFi and LCD TVs with some cable channels. The fridge is handy if you want to stock up on refreshments, and a trouser press, hot-water urn, and premium bed and pillows are welcome touches.

Great Location - Above Average
The hotel is in a great location close to Shinjuku station and all staff members that we met were friendly and welcoming. As with most Tokyo hotels, the rooms are on the smaller side but function well and have everything that you need. Whilst the bedroom area itself was ok we did find a few random items under the bed (slippers, wrappers and a toothbrush?) when I dropped my eye cream and it rolled under ... a bit gross! The bathroom area is clean but due to the construction of it and the age, it would seem that the cleaning staff are fighting a losing battle with dirt in nooks and crannies. I really do think that this is purely an age problem but lying in a bath after a long day exploring, the last thing you want to see is dirt and gunk under the sink joins and on the floor. Overall though I would stay here again. It's convenient and in close proximity for all sights around Shinjuku which out weighs any of the issues that we may of had.
