Be aware
We were only in Paphos overnight as needed to drop our son off at the airport early and as we had never been, we wanted to have a look around. Didn't want anything elaborate for one night so we chose the Dionysos Central as the reviews were pretty good. On entering it looked sufficient for what we needed and the lady that checked us in was lovely. Went to our room and I always check the bedding no matter where I stay. I was just about physically sick when I pulled back the top layer of the bedding to find horrible yellow stains all over it. On checking the second bed, this was the same and also all over the pillow. The third bed was OK. We left and I spoke to the lady who checked us in and showed her the photo that I had taken. She said it would be dealt with. This ruined my time in Paphos as all I could think about was the state of these beds. Even being the top cover, it was cold and as all there was on the bed was a thin sheet, it was needed as a blanket type thing. Assume that because of this it hadn't been changed from previous people as we were only there for one night!!! Also, be aware, I booked for the 3 of us in one room as we were only there for one night, all that was offered on was a standard Land view room. No problem being Land view, but our view was of a dump yard full of old AC units! The mattress was very uncomfortable and the one pillow that was given was pathetic.. No offer of a second pillow or no spare pillows in the room!

Pleasant stay in Paphos
I grew to like the Hotel after a few days thanks mainly to Nadia at reception who was wonderful! As I told her, she was -'First after Aphrodite in Cyprus!' I needed a clothes-iron on arrival but had to wait until second day for that. No ironing board. Sense of humour needed while ironing shirt on small low round table! Only one iron for the whole hotel! The hotel website said there was a tea/coffee-making facility in rooms. There was no kettle in mine. I got one after two days - but no cup or spoon or anything else. So, rather than ask, I went across the street to buy a nice colourful Cyprus mug! Naturally, like most Cork people, I had brought my own supply of 'Barry's Tea.' The food for breakfast was good. I enjoyed my stay despite the above negatives. Hotel has great location.

Great value for money
Great value for money. great location, close to the ocean, pubs and restaurants. about 15 minute walk from the mall. The staff was great. We asked to have a late check-out and they gave it to us as a gift. The room was very clean. There were a few minor problems: 1. The bed wasn't very good. We didn't wake up with back-aches or anything but they weren't very comfortable. 2. Another thing about the bed, we got two single beds pushed together instead of a double bed. When we asked they said they didn't have any rooms available with double beds. 3. the door to the bathroom was mostly transparent. not a big deal for couples but not the most comfortable thing. 4. walls are thin so you hear the noise. again, not terrible but the music playing from the taverna down the road was heard very loudly. We did manage to fall asleep though without much of a problem. Other than that the stay was really great.

Close to all amenities
Even though the hotel is very central and the room was very clean think you have to consider which of the hotel your room is as facing the street could be quite noisy. The room we stayed in faced the pool and was very quiet....wet room was very off-putting and the amount stairs you have to climb in getting to reception let alone from getting to the lift would not suit the elderly.

Overall, we had a nice stay. Rooms were cleaned each day, staff was friendly and the hotel was generally nice. It is not a luxury hotel - the accommodation matches the price; Breakfast buffet is basic but fine - same goes for the restaurant. I would advise against all inclusive. Our double-bed was two single beds put together; not the most comfortable, and beds moved around quite a bit over night.
