Tropical - Desert Getaway
Pulling up to Tahiti Village, it is like an oasis in the desert. Check in went quick and the front desk was friendly. We booked the kitchenette, but found out upon arrival that our room had no cookware. They do come with plates, cups, silverware, blender, toaster, microwave and mini fridge.
Due to allergies we make most of our meals, so we contacted the front desk. They generously moved us to a room with a kitchen.
Tahiti Village offers a free daily shuttle to the Mirage and Tropicana. The resort is also close to an outlet mall and some other dinner options within walking distance to the south.
The pool and the lazy river were relaxing. The overall atmosphere tropical.
It can sometimes get crowded so get there early to get a chair in the shade. Make sure to ask for your towel bracelet on the first day so you can check out pool towels. It seems they are lax on who can enter, large groups brought extended family w/o bracelets.
There is no gluten free pizza. We ordered some food “caveman style” in the bar. And service was quick and friendly.
We didn’t have anyone check on us the entire time to make sure we had enough room towels, coffee etc. So we had to ask the room service in the hallways. Our hot water went out for more than a day, apparently the entire tower was out. We called the front desk, and communication seemed to be lacking about what was wrong and when it would be fixed. The AC was out for one evening. The management did take care of us at check out.
