Mini break
Really good experience great to to get into Edinburgh by the train that seem to run on for ever and the steam and pool were brilliant just could do with a sauna. Room was lovely and clean but had to use heater as was not warm enough for me but overall very nice stay. Thank you.

Good option if driving to Edinburgh
Good hotel close to a tram stop so very convenient for city centre and Murrayfield.

Could do better.
Room not available on arrival after 2pm. Offered accessible room with no bath as option. Declined this and waited a further hour for suitable room to become available. Not a great start but even more disappointing was that despite our request at the time of booking for complimentary bathrobes and slippers the request was denied on the basis that only Executive rooms received these. Having booked a Deluxe Room at over £170 within an apparent 4 star hotel I considered this to be a disappointing reaction and quite frankly a rather pretentious elitist approach not in keeping with the many other Hotels of similar standards that we often frequent within Edinburgh. Room ok but in need of some TLC and the plumbing was somewhat out of date. On the plus side excellent fridge within the room which is a must for the modern day traveller and breakfast was of a very good standard.

Not worth the money
The hotel is ideally located for the tram stop. Check in was busy, but a small delay was fine. The lady checked us in, and then proceeded to let me know about the car park charge - something I wasn't aware of ... If you aren't a guest, it's £20, and if you are, it's £4 per night, so be aware. But she didn't smile and was quite miserable! The room was adequate, if a little cold, and the air con to heat the room wasn't working. It had not been cleaned very well - finding a kids unicorn paper cup on the windowsill and crisps down the side of the table wasn't great! The carpets were filthy, and the skirting boards in several areas were coming away from the walls. Most of the grout in the bathroom tiles was missing.... The bed was comfortable. Breakfast was very good and the staff in the bar and at breakfast were very polite and professional. But unfortunately, I don't think it was worth the amount we paid for it - and it wasn't cheap! We won't return ..

Good hotel, not so good Restaurant
Although the Hotel itself was good & the reception staff were very helpful. The restaurant staff & service was disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend the breakfast & the one occasion we went to the restaurant for dinner, we waited that long to be served we decided not to bother. The menu was limited & expensive.
