Nice location, poor staffing
Hotel is nice enough, staff all seemed miserable and not very inviting. Had to double check everything as extras we had paid for either weren’t added or were added wrong meaning they tried to charge us twice. Check your bill carefully on checkout.

Not impressed with the food, Friday conference dinner and Saturday lunch

Fair 4.0
First room that we were shown was awful, headboard broken and old tatty furniture. We complained and we were upgraded to a sea view, but the balcony was falling down so you couldn’t go outside and the room furniture was still tatty. Very disappointing!

Try harder
This hotel has so much potential but is resting on its laurels. It needs to try harder - a good example would be the bar - all the different gins on the menu fill you with hope - but served in dreadful tumbler akin Rovers Return - all the promised accompaniments from the menu fail to appear.

A comfortable stay
The hotel was good and staff were helpful. Our room Wath through the dining room which was not ideal but it had a nice view. I found the food good though the quality at breakfast did cary a little and the range for non cooked food was quite limited.

1 night for New Year’s Eve
Great room with courtesy tray and big bathroom. Lovely welcome but service at the bar in the evening ( new year eve event) was disorganised. Not the bar staff fault - they did their best . Queued for so long at the bar, my starter was served and went cold by the time I returned. However, I asked for a replacement which was honoured. Have stayed here before and the location is fabulous . Parking convenient - £7 per night could be revised I feel. Didn’t have breakfast this time but lots of eateries around at a much better value. Room was clean and bed very comfortable.
