Excellent location in idyllic Bavaria.
Really friendly staff, good quality breakfast and excellent 4 course meal set menu (discounted if you book in the morning), handy information leaflet of local events on your table at breakfast time, hotel offers token for free bus travel to centre of town (5 minute bus journey). Easy access to Zugspitz. A hidden treasure. We strongly recommend a stay at this hotel.

We were not in the hotel but across a very busy road in a room in a house, very small balcony overlooking garages and back gardens. Not the nice mountain views expected. As it happened we had friends nearby to visit so checked out early and moved on.

Decent hotel
Very decent place. Our room was very quiet and comfortable. Some of the furniture is a bit dated and needs upgrading. The location is also convenient. Just a few minutes into downtown Garmisch. The personnel at the front desk could be a bit more friendly.

Gross and disappointing.
This is the first time I have ever left a negative review for a hotel on this website.I booked a trip for my family at Rheinischer Hof and was, frankly disappointed in the hotel and the manner it was described on this website. I booked a stay in the Windrose Building, which I paid more for than a standard room, and instead was book in the main building. The elevator was not working so I had to haul my baby in a bassinet up several flights of stairs [had I know the elevator was not working I would not have booked at this hotel]. Finally, the room was disgusting. The refridgerator has never been cleaned and it smells like someone has been using it as a meat locker. Not kidding - I put a bottle of baby formula in there for several hours and had to throw it away when it smelled like month old salami.

* staff is kind of mix of good and bad. Overall was on helping and supporting side. Specailly when you have 2 kids to handle. * Room very nice and clean. * They even give free bus passes for travel locally. * Food was also good.
