took days to own up to accidentally charges
I had purchased a suite for June 7th through June 9th and paid for the booking an entire month before the booking date of June 7- June 9th. When I arrived they told me they will be putting a $200 authorization on my debit card, which I understood for any damages that may occur to the suite. Everything was okay until I was leaving. I went to return the key card at the front desk and upon ending conversation he told me I would be charged for my stay. I explained to him I should not be charged for the stay as I had already paid, he said oh okay well have a nice day. Upon me returning home that afternoon, I had gotten charged 2 times on my debit card for 2 additional nights including the $200 authorization hold. I called and spoke with various managers which kept giving me the run around about how it was an accurate charge until I spoke to the day manager who apologized and informed me that the hotel DID make a MISTAKE by charging my card 2 additional nights. I did not receive all of my appropriate funds into my bank account until 7 business days from my check out on June 9th. As you can imagine, It was a very horrible experience explaining this to my bank but they were very understanding. What became even more devastating is knowing the hotel did not send my bank the appropriate faxes or information needed to make their mistake of charging my card over an extra $500 faster nor easier so I did not receive my own money, that they took without permission until June 10th.

    Fair 4.0
Hidden costs. They charged us $59 per night for parking in a DC neighborhood with no street parking available. Then they charged $28.74 per night amenity fee. When we checked out I questioned what amenities we were being charged for and the desk clerk said WiFi and wine pouring. No one had mentioned wine pouring to us previously, and we had not participated. We stayed three night because the location was perfect for visiting my sister at her assisted living facility, but we will never stay there again. It was August and the hotel AC was not working. We woke up the second morning, and it was 79 degrees in our room, and the windows do not open. The fridge in the room froze our drinks, and ruined the fresh fruit we had brought with us. The best part of the stay were the very pleasant valets. Don't stay there. There are several nice places very close by.

    Good stay
I had a great stay. I only had two issues. 1) No microwave in the room. Which I need due to severe food allergies. I was in the hotel for 5 nights. So I barely got to eat since the area really isn't very celiac friendly. 2) My key reader broke on my door. The staff was great about it. I had my service dog with me and had to leave him in the room the day it broke. Every time I had to take him out I had to block the door from closing all the way. Luckily I he is my service dog so he could come with me the next day while they replaced the key reader. I would absolutely stay there again but buy/bring food before checking in. Stuff that I could eat without needing to be cooked. The restaurant attached did their best to get me breakfast the day I left. The little bit I was able to eat was good though. There is a fridge but it is controlled by a key, so it is a little hard to open.

    Exceptional 10.0
Loved this hotel from the minute Lance greeted us like VIPs! Anticipated every need. Remembered our names but still requested ID to replace a lost room key. Maggie is a doll! Called to ask about tours & within minutes she called us back after arranging a private tour for us. We cancelled twice because of weather & she did it with a smile! Evan was always there with a smile & seemed to know our needs before we said it. Tyrone also there with a huge smile along with Mike!! When we got stuck indoors for a couple of days they switched us to a suite when I said I wished I had a tub. And did I ever get a tun! A deep narrow Chinese tub that you can soak in up to your neck. Also sent slippers, bath salts &!a bottle of my fave wine & my husbands fave Diet Pepsi. They knew our faves from watching us at their great complimentary happy hour in their lobby every evening! Kero the bell hop greeted like an old friend every time we went in or out & also delivered our luggage. He made us feel welcome & like he loved his job! Rooms were large &?immaculately clean plus great unique classy decor you'll love. Comfy beds... mmm & a super designer shower with large luxury bottles of shampoo/conditioner/body wash! The restaurant is cozy & food is delicious!!! Jose did a super job anticipating needs. Going back in spring & no question where we'll be staying! With our new Kimpton Donovan friends Maggie, Lance, Evan, Tyrone, Mike & Kero!! Thanks y'all!!!! Hugs

    Very good 8.0
Great place, but little over-priced for condition
Great staff service, and the room was comfortable, but there were a number of things that seemed off given the room price. For example, the shower head was put in so that even when you aim it directly at the wall, it still pours out onto the floor of the bathroom. That design flaw was exacerbated by the fact that the lip of the shower was broken. The first morning, I ended up with a layer of water all over the bathroom floor! Another drawback was a lack of plugs and lights - the room is very sexy and low light is great for that, but it's difficult to get the room bright enough to do a little work in. Still, I'd stay here again, especially because the staff was top notch!
