Fantastic property. Restaurant is magnificent. Everything was great as usual. Except for spa treatment. My wife was cheated by a spa therapists and although we complained nothing was done
A wonderfully relaxing stay! Staff were great & very friendly. Think it’s the best breakfast I’ve ever had! Loved the smoothies that you can make yourself! Lovely pool, sauna & steam area.
This is the best hotel I have stayed in for a long time and although it is not cheap, it was excellent value for money considering its facilities, idylic setting, excellent food and first class staff and service. Parking was, no extra charge and a fabulous breakfast was included in the room rate. My family had suffered a very poor quality hotel in Santa Margherita only a few days before traveling to Lake Garda so Splendido did much to make up for our earlier disappointment and I will definitely return next year.
Our stay at Splendido bay was relaxing with beautiful views across the lake, recently rennovated and new owners to the property has made a big difference. They have added 2 new restaurants and the food is quality, a little overpriced but worth it. Poolside bar is also an addition with afternoon snacks. All staff polite and attentive at all times with no exception spared. Have been to this hotel 4 times, 3 when it was Relais Emilliano and this time as Splendido Bay, and will definitely stay here again
From the moment you check in at the hotel you are greeted by amazing front of house staff who take care of everything. Friendly, professional and welcoming... The hotel is a tranquil place but with families and couples... it is definitely 5 STAR - from the picturesque setting to the restaurants and bar and the hotel rooms (we had a 1 bedroom suite). Unlike so many hotels, we never had to scramble for a lounger by the pool as there is so much space (this was in AUGUST!) There is an outdoor and indoor pool and both are large and immaculate. Our children (8yrs and 6yrs) loved the place and the staff really take the time to make the trip great for kids as well as adults (but there are not too many kids running around - in fact you don't even notice the ones that are there!!) We ate in the main restaurant twice and the restaurant in the hotel grounds (Il Rivale) and both were top quality. The drinks are also VERY reasonably priced - we are sued to paying Dubai prices so paying 25 euros for a decent bottle of wine was cheap at half the price! We also hired a boat and the hotel arranged that for us - they picked us up and dropped us back at the hotel. The hotel offer a shuttle service. You may use this free at certain set times but for 20 euros a night outside the normal times it is worth every penny... we mainly ate in Desenzano which is only 3 miles away and has LOTS of bars, restaurants and shops.... simply call the hotel and they will send the shuttle service for you
Finding the hotel was very easy as was checking in, helped by an upgrade as soon as we arrived which was much needed as would have been difficult otherwise with a 10m old baby. The hotel staff were very helpful, the food very nice in all restaurants (even room service was a high standard). The swimming pool area/general gardens were very well maintained and whilst I didn't use the spa (only the gym) it also looked very clean and offered lots of treatments. The gym was small and let down by lack of equipment but If you like running machines/ x-trainers then it's fine and rarely used. I believe all the rooms are ground floor, we had a corner plot with a garden facing the Lake, great for a baby wanting to crawl everywhere and also giving you extra privacy if needed. The rooms themselves where nice especially as we had a 2 bed villa with tiny lounge area, this enabled us to put the cot in the 2nd room and having some space left for ourselves. NOTE: Whilst we didn't have a problem getting our baby to sleep, there is a beachbar/club the other side of the Lake, which despite being a fair distance away generates a lot of noise, it did calm down 10.30pm but we went at the start of the summer so would expect that to get worse or better depends what side of the age bracket your on.
Hotel was lovely, recommending eating there and not their more prestige restaurant down the road, meal was not quite so good for the money paid!
The hotel was amazing, great location once you find it, staff great and friendly couldn’t do more to help you. We will definitely be going back.
We had a really good experience staying at the hotel. The staff were more more than happy to help. We had a problem with the shuttle that we booked going back from the hotel to the airport and the friendly staff arranged their own driver to take us back to the airport in good time for our flight without charging us a single euro. This was such a good gesture. Thanks you so much for all your help and making our stay very special. Would definitely come back.
One of the handful of hotels/resorts that are available in January around Lake Garda. Value for money with a decent, traditional Italian restaurant within the premises.
