Glacier hotel
Overnight stop between Golden and Jasper to see the glacier. Unfortunately the weather was very poor for the time of the year and the roads were snow covered in places. It snowed heavily overnight and we had to delay our departure until the snow ploughs had done their job but we weren't rushed. The actual room was very clean and large (we had a mezzanine) and the view of the mountain was interesting. There was a seating area too which made it seem more like an apartment. The restaurant there was expensive for what they served but as the hotel is in the middle of nowhere we accepted that.

Wonderful Columbia Icefield location and views
The hotel is part of the Icefield Centre, with reception on the ground floor (next to the icefield tours tickets area) and rooms on the top floor. Hotel services were not perfect (we had to wait to check in) but the room was spacious and in fine condition and the views over the three glaciers were superb. The centre has a cafeteria and restaurant on the middle floor, both of which were good, and made an effort to satisfy the many Chinese tourists with a chinese-style menu. Prices were a little higher than normal, but what do you expect with such a unique location and view. I suggest you make use of your stay and take the icefield tour early in the morning, before the buses from Jasper and Calgary arrive.

Comfortable stay but a little expensive.
The room was clean and comfortable, WiFi worked well, we had a third floor room in a building close to the main hotel building. A mountain view albeit with the car park in the foreground. Very close to the lake Louise sops and tourist info. Generally I thought the room was expensive.

Remote hotel in picturesque location
Good stopover hotel on the way between Banff and Jasper or if visiting the Glacier. The hotel rooms are spacious although are dated - particularly the bathroom and plumbing. I.e, the shower would go off when somebody else flushed a toilet in another room, and the noise of toilets being flushed in other rooms could be heard and impacted the plumbing in our room. Parking is a short walk from the hotel itself, particularly in the morning as you are unable to cross the car park and have to walk round and over a bridge, all in the name of safety with tourist buses in the car parks, but annoyance none the less for paying hotel guests. One piece of advice would be to bring your own food to the hotel if possible, the on-site restaurant is overpriced and severely lacking in quality. As part of this trip we paid less for a 2 course, fine dining meal at the top on the CN tower compared with a burger and salmon and vegetables at the glacier inn. There is nothing else around though so it's a take it or leave it option...or bring your own. Overall, an ok hotel for a quick stopover, probably not somewhere you would stay more than one night. One word of caution, there is no cell/mobile signal at the hotel, although the wifi works well - you will not be able to make contact with the outside world bar via the Internet.
