Very Good8.0
Perfect for the first glacier tour of the day
Big room although slightly dated and a shower that is perfect if you are 5ft6 or less as the shower head is fixed and quite low. Nothing to do apart from the glacier tour so you don't need to arrive as early as we did. The food in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast is your only choice unless you bring a lot of snacks but it was very tasty, if a little pricey as one would expect. Service a bit slow in the morning but otherwise good. Our room had a rearwards view - not of a mountain but of a storage container and a gravelly slope so try and get one facing the other way!

Glacier hotel
Overnight stop between Golden and Jasper to see the glacier. Unfortunately the weather was very poor for the time of the year and the roads were snow covered in places. It snowed heavily overnight and we had to delay our departure until the snow ploughs had done their job but we weren't rushed. The actual room was very clean and large (we had a mezzanine) and the view of the mountain was interesting. There was a seating area too which made it seem more like an apartment. The restaurant there was expensive for what they served but as the hotel is in the middle of nowhere we accepted that.

Glacier View Inn
Wonderful Columbia Icefield location and views
The hotel is part of the Icefield Centre, with reception on the ground floor (next to the icefield tours tickets area) and rooms on the top floor. Hotel services were not perfect (we had to wait to check in) but the room was spacious and in fine condition and the views over the three glaciers were superb. The centre has a cafeteria and restaurant on the middle floor, both of which were good, and made an effort to satisfy the many Chinese tourists with a chinese-style menu. Prices were a little higher than normal, but what do you expect with such a unique location and view. I suggest you make use of your stay and take the icefield tour early in the morning, before the buses from Jasper and Calgary arrive.
