Staff are always welcoming and friendly. We were very surprised to be woken up by builders working on a scaffolding which had been erected outside our window without any prior warning. Hopefully the work will include changing the worn out draughty window. Overall the Garfield is a good hotel and the breakfast is excellent!

Disappointing small room on my first visit
The room I was assigned was tiny! More like a cell than a room. I assume that this hotel has a few "budget" rooms and I had got one of those. The wallpaper was stained with water, there was no room to sit at the desk. All in all, it was a miserable cell-like room, not at all as expected. I'm sure this isn't indicative of all rooms but perhaps cheaper ones via Hotels.com? The restaurant was lovely though and breakfast was good.
