Ok, but only that.
Hotel Panorama is an ok hotel quite close to the main sights of Florence. However, much is left to be desired. The entrance is a dark stairwell (or miniscule elevator), leading into a reception/bar area more akin to hostels. Our room was not a place we wanted to spend any time in, the light source is a bare light bulb, and half of the walls are painted mud brown. The beds might be the hardest ones we've ever slept in at a hotel. The bathroom door had no lock - which really is fine - but it didnt even have any door latch, making it possible to open the door just by brushing up against it slightly. There were also ants in the bathroom. The terrace is small, but has nice views over the town, as does the breakfast area. The terrace however feels a bit abandoned, with the straw roof falling down in places. On the plus side, there is AC, and the staff is nice. This is an OK hotel to sleep in a few nights, if your standards aren't that high and you don't plan on spending any time at the hotel other than sleeping.

Exceptional 10.0
This is a fantastic hotel in an excellent location. The staff are all very helpful and friendly. I highly recommend this hotel.

Pleased with the location and the ease of check-in. Air-conditioning wasn't working and the room was quite humid. I was also unlucky in that this led to me sleeping with the window slightly open and getting numerous mosquito bites. Otherwise service was more or less fine and the breakfast was suitable for a 3 star hotel (though it would be better to have the option of eating before 8am for business travellers).

Good position but lacks finesse
We were a little disappointed with the size of our room and the lack of storage space provided (tiny wardrobe!) and tiny shower. Also a bedside lamp with no plug attached!! However the friends we travelled with had a much larger room. The artwork everywhere was quirky but a bit tired looking. Breakfast is more than adequate. Hotel is in a good position for all the main attractions and has a roof terrace with a lovely view of the Duomo and adjoining lounge to sit and have a drink in the evening. Reception staff were helpful.

Quirky hotel
Quirky wee hotel in great area for sightseeing. It's basic but very Italian and homely. Christina and the other staff members were very welcoming and gave us great tips and restaurant recommendations. Lovely little rooftop terrace with great views. Would stay again and recommend to budget conscious traveller.

A typical Italian 3 star
A typical 3 star Italian hotel on the 2nd to 5th floors of a classical style building. There is a small old-fashioned lift to reception on the 2nd floor and beyond to the 4th (but not the 5th) floor. Quirky original art works give it character and the staff are friendly. The location is a little outside the centre and this is reflected in the good value price. It is a short 10 minute walk to the Accademia for example (for Michelangelo's 'David') but a good 20 minute walk to the river Arno or the railway station. The breakfast is adequate with excellent service and is enhanced by the view from the breakfast room on the 4th floor overlooking the city. There is also a sun terrace. The room facilities are somewhat basic but adequate with good AC and a TV. The shower cubicle in the single room I occupied was very small. Rooms were cleaned on a daily basis.

Great location. Good breakfast. That's about it.
Great location, good breakfast and that's all. Room smelt of damp. Walls were half plastered. Hair dryer was pathetic. Had to ask for hot water in the morning when we realised it was running cold.

The place needs to be redecorated. It looked and felt tired. There were some nice features such as the chill out room. Most staff members were friendly.

Florence visit.
Great location to see Florence, everywhere within walking distance. The hotel needs some care as our shower door was broken.

Not bad, not outstanding. Not close but not to far from center. Probably better for young couples or friends than for family. Gets the job done
