Good value and location but get directions!!!
Hotel was dated, but clean. helpful staff and being a short drive from Sorrento offered good value. I'd say a car is essential as there is no public transport, a steep walk and taxi's very expensive. Take detailed directions as it's very difficult to find, with satnav/google not recognising the road it's on. I arrived at night and took an hour of driving around dark narrow lanes to find it.

A little gem of a find.
The hotel is situated in a tiny fishing village at the base of a high cliff, with two narrow winding roads down to a picturesque little beach, part of which is for hotel guests only. There is also a cliff path behind the small village church, but whether you decide to walk up the roads or the path, it is a pretty steep climb (took us around 15-20 minutes). The hotel operates a shuttle service, however, into Sorrento, so you can avoid the climb if you wish! The hotel also provides sunshades, deckchairs and sunbeds on the beach for their guests, and it has its own restaurant 'The Tavernette' which serves the most delicious food - dinner is discounted for guests. The hotel staff were very helpful and super-friendly. The location is idyllic, but very remote and quiet, so if you're looking for nightlife this is not the place for you. One word of advice - don't get a taxi from Sorrento to the resort as they charged us around £40 for a 4 mile journey; instead ring the hotel and they will send the shuttle out to collect you (we only found this out when we checked in). By the time we left we were entirely seduced by the location and friendly atmosphere, and we were sorry to leave the resort. Another tip is to get the Curreri Viaggo airconditioned coach directly from outside Naples Airport, which will take you to Sorrento for only 10 euros (you pay the driver).

good choice to staying next to the beach
hostel just in front of the beach, you have a really nice view!! staff are friendly and helpful the location is a bit far from the city, but they can provide limited shuttle bus to and from city to the hostel this service is really help and u will get a discount to having dinner in the restaurant which just next the entrance of the hostel, that's is very good for money and the foods are delicious the only thing is the door of the bathroom can not actually be closed....u will be in a swimming pool after u took yr bath

HARD to find but Worth Finding
Great Hotel clean, nice beach, great restaurant, beautiful hotel and great location. BEWARE getting there is NOT easy. Thanks everyone for your reviews, I at least knew this before I went. Yes GPS does not take you to the hotel. Let me give you some pointers. GPS takes you to where RESIDENTS and locals can enter the area. There is a man at a gate and he directs you back to the main road. Driving farther south there is an entrance between two white walls. Go down this way to the city parking lot for the beach. CONFUSING since it is marked for several different hotels. The signage is POOR Hotel Baia di Puolo does not Consistently use the same name. Find the unmanned guard shack that has some obscure signage and then continue to the right down what looks like a private driveway for another hotel. There is a pole with arrows to two different hotels, take the one to the right. That tiny sign on the guard shack is trying to get you to go this way. The road is narrow and dark. At the parking lot go to the far end and the hotel parking appears there. Then go through the gate and walk down a dark uneven pathway to the hotel. My wife fell on this walk from the parking lot to the hotel. Better lighting and pavement would be helpful. Oh by the way! If you are in a room in the 500's get off on the floor with rooms marked in the 200's. Your 500 room is to the right and unmarked as you exit the elevator. WORTH it but VERY hard to get to.
